Antarctic Meltdown Producing Record Amounts Of Ice

Climate experts say that Antarctica is melting down and will drown us all.

Antarctic ice is near an all-time record high, indicating that climate expert is synonymous with flaming imbecile.

    Southern Hemisphere
In 2007 max Sea Ice reached 16.23238 sq Km. That was the most ever recorded in Sat History.
In 2012 max Sea Ice reached 16.22173 sq Km. That was the second ever highest ever recorded

Now 2013 S. Hem Sea Ice is making all time Daily records, stands at 15.82225 for the date.

Seems earth has a balancing device, in 2007 and 2012 N Hem sea ice made record lows.
This year things are different, Much more Sea Ice in N hem as Steven Goddard has been reporting.

USCGC Healey out in the Arctic Ocean crushing the Sea Ice for last week. There are no ships in the area but seems they were on a joy ride. This ice breaker is roaming the Beaufort Sea and had an ‘Ice Liberty’ party on an ice floe on 8/23:

If you look in the Picture Supper Mann is dressed up in his costume for the Ice breaking event

    • Robertv says:

In just four years, shipping along the Northern Sea Route has increased ten-fold. In 2012, more than 40 ships sailed through, most of them bulk carriers or tankers carrying iron ore, oil and liquefied natural gas from Northwest Russia to China, South Korea or Japan. As a sign of things to come, one transit involved a load of coal being shipped from Vancouver, Canada, to Hamburg, Germany.

This year, 55 ships have already received permission to sail through, during a season that now extends from July through November.

Shipping through the Northwest Passage has also increased, but at a slower rate. In 2012, there were a total of 30 transits, none of which involved large cargo ships or tankers sailing to other countries. This is at least partly due to the Canadian government’s lack of investment in its northern infrastructure, and its failure to provide icebreaking services for commercial vessels.

Looks like the USCGC Healy is headed to the north pole. Teachers on the Ice expedition.
Who is paying for this and if they head to the North pole on The Ice Breaker it will be the Second Ice breaker to make a visit to the north pole this summer.

That is where the picture of Supper Mann came from.

  4. @njsnowfan says:

Steve did you see why this teachers on the ice to the N pole expedition is taking place,
This is why they say :
The purpose of this research is to prove or disprove a theory of the Little/Mini Ice Age, and much more, which will be explained to me as the cruise continues.

    • Jason Calley says:

Perhaps I missed the reference to the Little Ice Age. I think they are researching the cause of the Younger Dryas cooling.

  5. Robertv says:

Scientists used to believe that the world’s largest single ice sheet, in the East Antarctica, had been relatively untouched by global warming.

But after studying 50 years worth of spy satellite images, researchers have found some surprising developments.

    But more study is needed.
