I saw an ad about soccer on NBC, and couldn’t help but think that we’re not just copying European social policies, we’re now importing their sports.
Soccer is by far the most popular participant sport in the US.
Participant sport, yes, but very few actually watch.
There are huge numbers of soccer fans in the US. Most of the population of LA is from south of the border. Dempsey’s opener in Seattle – 60,000+ fans. That is why NBC is now showing all of the English matches.
I could only watch 2 minute of the NY v Phil. Horrible touches no ball control skills very little build up. I can’t stand kick and chase soccer. TV off wait for EPL game later.
Same educational establishment as oblarny.
This is why European soccer stars love to vacation in the US — they’re not recognized!
