North American winter snow coverage is an excellent proxy for how far south Arctic air is penetrating into the United States. During years when the cold air pushes further south, the snow line pushes further south, causing a larger area of snow coverage. Winter snow cover has been increasing in a hockey stick since the very warm winter of 1995, and is now at record levels.
The animation below correlates North American winter snow cover vs. raw and adjusted US winter temperatures. As you can see, the correlation with raw temperatures is better than the correlation with adjusted temperatures, indicating that the adjustments degrade their accuracy. All that the adjustments do is add noise and diminish the correlation.
The raw temperatures show a net winter cooling since 1970 in the US, but the NCDC adjusted temperatures show a net warming.
Every test I have made on USHCN adjustments shows that they are complete crap. Their only purpose is to turn cooling into warming – for political purposes.

The more I look at human nature, the more I realize the need for oversight. Whether it is the IPCC or NASA the EPA or any organization, left alone corruption will ensue. NASA and the EPA were outstanding in the beginning.

Or, like our current situation in the US, the overseers are rendered powerless as the corrupt control both enforcement and messaging. In a governmental system that is supposed to be controlled by the people, and the messengers in the press ignore, belittle and humiliate the overseers the corrupt have won. You can’t get a mob of pitchfork wielding peasants to throw the corrupt out of office if they don’t know the truth.
Who watches the watchers?
In our former Constitutional Republic it was the task of the people and the States via free speech, a free press and the representatives of State governments in the Senate. Sadly our Republic has turned into a Socialist Democracy as the States no longer have a say in federal government and the press has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat party and the Progressive left. Our only hope is the ballot box but the corruption may be too deep for that anymore.

When you say that ‘every organisation wants to exist’ you imply (corrrectly IMHO) that organisations are sentient living beings. This kind of talk is usually dismissed as metaphorical rhetoric. I claim otherwise.
From human conversations there emerge entities with different properties. ‘Suprahuman institutions are autonomous, autopoietic systems, fuelled by human lifetime spreading the conversations in competition with others like themselves. They need serve no human purpose.
They seem to be beyond human control.
And then there is the Federal Reserve which was set up supposedly to stop inflation….hahaha.
