Joe McCarthy Back In The Senate

There could have been a disclaimer on their article: “WARNING: This product contains undisclosed conflicts of interest, and consuming it could be hazardous to your comprehension.” A bit of due diligence with scientists at Rhode Island universities might also have been in order before offering them The Journal’s podium.

Sheldon Whitehouse: Plenty of reason to fear sea-level rise in R.I. | Opinion – Rhode Islanders speak out on issues | Providence Journal

Let’s see – senator uses distortions, innuendo, outright lies and guilt by association to attack scientists. Where have we seen that before?

WHAT SCIENTISTS DID jOE McCarthy LIE ABOUT?

    • I am not at all interested in having anyone hijack this thread with their personal agenda. It is happening too often and is really pissing me off.

      • inMAGICn says:

        Steven,

I have no intention of hijacking anything. I have no personal agenda,
But the Joe McCarthy as ultimate evil meme is getting tedious.

      • Ron says:

These people (I’m being nice) cannot come up with one piece of evidence disproving any of your claims. They completely ignore fact in favor of propaganda, when much of the fact is based on pure common sense and simple science. It pisses me off that people are this stupid, (nice off). These morons are allowing propagandist to ruin the very basic fundamentals that allow us to live a free and prosperous life. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, as there is no doubt that you have made it a mission to expose this fraud. That would make you a patriot in every sense of the word. And it deserves a very big thank you!

      • inMAGICn says:

        We agree.

      • Gary H says:

I’d note, on the side bar . . that Whitehouse (hopefully a location that he never ends up in), et.al., should remember that Joe McCarthy was a close family friend of the Kennedys and that Robert F Kennedy held McCarthy closely as a mentor (once worked for him) and defended McCarthy to the end (to journalists – something that the MSM would never allow to be discussed in front of the broad electorate).

    • DedaEda says:

Another example of Steven’s propensity to shoot at his friends. Pity

  3. tom0mason says:

“Are you now or have you ever been a member of the CO2 polluter-funded front group, known as the Heartland Institute, the most dispicable cover organization of climate deniers that tries to undermine Amerukrian socialist thinking?”

“I see you have difficulty, so I’ll rephrase that.
Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the infamous Heartland Institute of the United States?”…

“Ummm. You know you don’t have the right to be a climate denier in the United Socialist States don’t you?”

    “Take him down!”

    Tony,

We’ve seen it with every single issue that the Politically Correct Progressives take up–from the early days of their massive lie campaigns to impugn the prosecutions of American traitors–the Rosenbergs, Alger Hiss, the Hollywood 10, and others.

We’ve seen the exact same tactics every time PC-Progs’ anti-capitalist, anti-Traditional-America operations are uncovered.

    This is typical PC-Prog tactics.

Joe McCarthy was right, for the most part. The PC-Prog tactics you describe have nothing in common with anything McCarthy did.

    • Kent,

I’m speaking a language progressives understand, to help them understand how loathsome they have become.

      • Fallon says:

Thank you, Kent, for upholding the truth regarding Senator McCarthy, and the REAL black-listers, who continue to distort and disparage, especially in the climate-fraud realm.

Thank you, Steven, for your faithful advocacy of the facts. Your brief foray into cultural lore is understood, though I doubt you would be as comfortable with a mischaracterization of your work as you have been with that of Joe’s.

The techniques and operations waged against Joe, and many others, would not be new to you. You would readily recognize them, and for that reason, you might want to do a better job of combating them than Old Joe did.

Progressives, real progressives, take no heed of their loathsomeness. When faced with a choice of pretty, ugly, or powerful, they’ll reflexively choose powerful every time. Repeating their lie about Joe simply empowers them again.

  5. Dale Hartz says:

I watched a lot of the McCarthy hearings and noted his caustic manner against innocent people. The Lawyer for the Army, Joseph N. Welch once asked McCarthy; “Have you no sense of decency, Sir?”

I watched a couple of Senate hearings in which Sen. Whitehorse participated. He knows nothing about climate science especially studies coming out every week which challenges carbon sensitivity on temperature, ocean oscillation, and history of wildfires, pine beetles, tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, heat waves, etc. Our country is in great danger with people like Whitehorse in a position of power.

Sheldon knows nothing about anything truth be be told.

      • Brian G Valentine says:

Sheldon got on the back of the wrong pony to get reelected.

By Sheldon! Hope you can make enough on the rubber chicken circuit to keep yourself afloat

    • secryn says:

Agree. Whitehouse is arogant and condescending. His voice drips with contempt when he talks about those horrid deniers. He is not about fact-finding but rather always trying to ridicule those that disagree with him.

      • Fallon says:

If you’re going to fight a hypocrite over their rendering of facts, bring facts!

“M. Stanton Evans did the spadework in Blacklisted by History, his … orbit-reversing – book about the late Sen. McCarthy, who died in 1957. The book devastates the fact-devoid conventional wisdom (including the “no decency” fable) on McCarthy and reconstructs an evidence-based record. A very different person emerges from Evans’ research: a political leader who – alas for the purveyors of “court history” – in no way resembles the execrable Harry Reid.

Yes, Welch theatrically denounced McCarthy at a June 1954 Senate hearing for outing Welch’s assistant Frederick Fisher as a former member of a Communist front, the National Lawyers Guild. But weeks earlier, on April 16, 1954, Welch himself outed Fisher – confirming that he’d relieved Fisher from duty over his previous front membership – in the pages of the New York Times!

It sounds fantastic – it is fantastic – but somehow Welch’s baseless “no decency” accusation lingers, its staying power derived from wells of pure ignorance, laziness or mendacity. It cries out for correction.”

Focus: ” …weeks earlier, on April 16, 1954, Welch himself outed Fisher – confirming that he’d relieved Fisher from duty over his previous front membership – in the pages of the New York Times!”

What if McCarthy’s demeanor was EXACTLY appropriate, and the PORTRAYAL and FILTERING of his decorum wasn’t?

  6. Brian G Valentine says:

Tom Harris and Bob Carter are very modest people, with quite modest means.

Why doesn’t Whitehouse attack his cohort and known sexual offender Al Gore? Gore makes more in a speech that anybody is stupid enough to pay for than either Tom or Bob make in 2 years.

  7. SHELDON WHITEHOUSE is a man who sold his soul.
