Joe Romm Permanent Drought Update

It has been three years since Joe Romm announced the beginning of the permanent drought in Phoenix, which is now wetter than normal.

The US is now near historically low levels of drought, thanks to your SUV. California is being rewarded for their carbon tax.

It’s fun to go back and see their words and predictions. I had forgotten this one. Thanks for sharing.

(Also, as you’ve pointed out before, it’a also fun to note the healthy “green” caused by fracking in North Dakota!)

Have we seen the birth of the “Romm Effect”?

It has not rained here in central Florida for over 20 hours. At this rate this drought will wipe out all life within this decade! Send money!

And with a continuation of that trend, by 2050 Florida will be in perpetual desiccation.

I saw a patch of drying soil in one of the pastures this AM… the end is nigh… I’m hoarding water as I type (which is really easy as the ground is so saturated nothing will drain and the ditches and creeks are full.)

For the alarmists beating their chests about drought in California, a look at this chart is in order. Bad drought is confined to less than 10% of the USA. Very unlike the 1930’s, where 80% of the USA was gripped by drought or even the 1950’s, when 50% was.

UK met office was spruiking about September being driest on record and it has pissed down raining ever since.
Maybe they’ve caught the Algore effect!

  6. LeeHarvey says:

Please, Joe… Tell the world about how California will never see rain again.

Surest way I can think of to end the drought…

Where I am located, in Long Beach, California, although it hasn’t actually rained in a while, a heavy mist comes up every evening until mid morning that is so heavy there isn’t much need to water the plants. Of course, nobody actually counts this. Meanwhile, martial law has not yet been declared, we haven’t been fined, and the community pool is still well-maintained. Moreover, the city comes by and waters the wetlands every once in a while to keep them well maintained. Other public landscaping also looks to be in good shape.

    New definition?

    Rommism:
    1. The ability to hold a limited span of dry, desiccated ideas especially during rainfall.
    2. To continuously expostulate on a very limited span of arid theories of no significance.
