Philippine activists on Thursday launched a 40-day “climate walk” to raise awareness about the impacts of global warming.

The marchers will trek 1,000 kilometers in 40 days from Manila to the city of Tacloban, which was devastated by Super Typhoon Haiyan in November of last year.

These geniuses should have started their march in 1896, before the October 12th typhoon which destroyed Tacloban in less than half an hour and killed more than 6,000 people.

  1. They want climate justice? What does that even mean?

    • stpaulchuck says:

Marxist redistribution – “We can haz your money!”

      • Yes. This is the revolutionary vanguard, as theorized by Marx and first implemented by Lenin. There seems to be about 40 of them. History suggests that the majority of the marchers will get blisters after a few miles and go home but there could be the next Lenin, Stalin, Mao or Pol Pot in the lineup, likely in the second row. The people in the front row will be liquidated by him within the first 10 years of the revolution. Alternatively, the next Marxist leader may not be in this march but come later from revolutionary exile, probably in Zürich, Geneva or Paris.

        • Olaf Koenders says:

All they could find was 40 idiots? Had they been smarter they would have 1000 idiots walk 1km each.

Better still, just forget the whole charade and get a life.

        • I like your thinking, Olaf. That’s the right performance metric. Marches against global warming must be measured in idiot-kilometers so climatologists can properly parameterize their models and precisely compute the contribution of every march to climate justice and world peace.

          ———-

Study notes: Thanks to the pioneering research of Gail Combs and others we know that not all global warming idiots are the same. Should we also measure their degree of idiocy? Is a kilometer walked by a full-idiot really equal to a kilometer covered by a halfbright, dolt, dunce or fool? Do we need idiocy weighting to improve the skill of the climate models?

        • Gail Combs says:

Olaf , it is 40 miles not forty idiots but I am sure the number of marchers has been inflated. They already inflated the numbers for NYC.

400,000 people in the NYC People’s Climate March? Not hardly.

…The organisers bragged that 310,000 people went, but even sympathetic fans on their side who liked the rally are saying that “generously” it could only have been 120,000 at most. After counting heads with timers, and doing a decent calculation, Fire on the Mountain (I wish I had a name to credit) said “No way in hell were there 310,000 people on that march. “

        • Gail: Olaf is blameless on the actual measurements. He just quoted my “forty idiots” estimate. It was a rough count of mugs in the picture.

Olaf came up with the extremely useful idea of idiot-kilometer marching metrics.

        • Olaf Koenders says:

Sorry Gail, Colorado for the possibly inaccurate (inflated?) number of marchers I proposed. It was difficult to discern an accurate head count as idiots are naturally difficult to count, being there so many in general, and that they tend to be unusually mobile for inexplicable reasons.

Thanks for crediting the idiot-marching metrics, however I would find it difficult to continue this line of research whereby inclusion of half-wits, dolts and fools should be parameterised and weighted. Such research could well take many decades and therefore substantive funding must be forwarded to ensure accurate conclusions, especially in the face of Climate Change ®™.

    • For them, it probably means a huge increase in

      1) The amount of Kyoto-style transfer payments (for “climate projects”) from wealthy countries and/or

      2) Vouchers for the purchase of goods from wealthy countries. The rationale being that greater prosperity in a poor country somehow reduces the average per-capita CO2 emissions.

  2. stpaulchuck says:

the PI has a large contingent of low info folks that are easily fooled by appeal to authority. The anti capitalists are generally the same morons who rant and rave against GMO foods even though Miracle Rice is a GMO food developed there and is responsible for saving countless lives from starvation. Global warming is merely their newest protest fad abetted by anti government and communist types looking for a way to start a ‘revolution’.

In the case of capitalism the morons conflate the oligopoly land baron run sugar and rice economies with poverty. Yet, even when haciendas are broken up and parceled out the small farmers crash and burn shortly because of a little thing called economy of scale. So the whole Marxist redistributionist nonsense fails again and again while the agitators find another ignorant mob to fire up. What they never seem to understand is that having twelve kids you can’t feed or cloth might just be the cause and that capitalism combined with lower birth rates is the way out.

  3. au1corsair says:

They misspelled “REPENT SINNERS FOR JUDGEMENT DAY DAWNS TOMORROW!”

  4. Dave N says:

“the PI has a large contingent of low info folks that are easily fooled by appeal to authority”

Replace “PI” with “world”; that fixed it. They’re also easily fooled by anyone trumpeting that the planet needs saving from humans.

  5. GoneWithTheWind says:

    “What does climate justice mean?”
That’s easy; it means give us money, power and privilage or we will riot, harass, intimidate, extort and defame you until you do. It means exactly the same thing no matter which special nterest group says it. It comes with nasty names they will call you until you relent. There is NO salvation you are guilty and you will continue to be guilty no matter how much you give up, give in or hand over to them. Truth and common sense have no place in this arguement/extortion you are wrong, they are right hand over your wallet and cell phone if you want to live.

  6. tom0mason says:

With a reasonable amount of scientific ignorance, coupled to a widespread belief in the infallibility of BIG Government which is driving a competent advertizing campaign, then this type of mass hysteria should be more common.

    • Gail Combs says:

Most people are too lazy to get out of Mom’s basement and go protest unless paid to do so….

Must be very frustrating for the Community Organizer in Chief.

      • tom0mason says:

Yes, I forgot the public’s large inertial lassitude of bull-headed indolence and procrastination.

As you say “Must be very frustrating for the Community Organizer in Chief.”

      • Gail Combs says:

After making this comment I realized that ‘Community Organizer’ was Obama’s greatest qualification in the minds of the Progressive Leaders.

“This present window of opportunity, during which a truly peaceful and interdependent world order might be built, will not be open for too long… We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis, and the nations will accept the New World Order.” – David Rockefeller speaking at the United Nations Ambassadors’ dinner. [Sept. 23, 1994]

They ran into the problem that the progressive base is relatively lazy and self-centered while the conservative base are the independent thinkers and a lot more aggressive.

  7. Gamecock says:

Them people ain’t carrying any toilet paper.

Or food. Or water. They won’t last two days.

Wait . . . what? . . . fossil fueled vehicles are bringing it along for them? So they are telling The World not to use fossil fuels LIKE THEY ARE? You’d have to be a journalist to pay them any attention.

  8. geran says:

That big of a crowd walking 1000 km?

Are they are just trying to use up all of Imelda’s shoes?

  9. darrylb says:

Gail, I have a question for you above after your community organizer comment

  10. gofer says:

Here is the reason, as if it wasn’t obvious:

“We need to unite as a people and demand a climate treaty that will give justice and COMPENSATION to countless families [and] communities that are affected and devastated by climate change impacts,” Hernandez said at the start of the walk in Manila.”

  11. Even though this march will provide some measure of diversion for the townspeople alongside the route, the overriding concern for everyone in the country is the prospect of widespread power shortages expected next year.

  12. nielszoo says:

The important question… are they marching in a straight line? How deep is the water a thousand klicks from those islands? I’m reminded of the old joke “keep walking until your hat floats.”

  13. mjc says:

Can we drop the ‘useful’…they aren’t even useful for filling potholes, because they’ll rot and stink too much, in a short period of time.

    • Gail Combs says:

The are ‘useful’ tools for their enemies who will probably kill or enslave them if they succeed in overthrowing the current government. The fact they can not see that makes them ‘idiots’

Technically “Useful Idiots” or “Innocents’ Clubs” refers to the thousands of European and American progressive intellectuals manipulated by the Soviets’ master propagandist Willi Munzenberg through his vast publishing network and interlocking front organizations under the covert direction of the Communist International (Comintern) and the Soviet secret services of the NKVD and the GRU.

Kent Clizbe in his book on the Soviet origin of the Political Correct Movement here in the USA calls them Willing Accomplices.

I prefer the direct and to the point term of tr@itors.

(2nd copy, I really hate Word Unimpressed.)

    • rah says:

I will disagree with you on that terminology Gail. The “useful idiots” do not consist of one type. Some, the drivers for sure and their closest followers, are most certainly subversive in their intent and thus some would put them in the “traitor” category. They hate capitalism. But many are simply low information types that get the limited news they watch or read from the long time organs. They are more worried about taking selfies and what Lady Ga Ga is doing than current events. Others, somewhat better informed, are just plain gullible. They mean well, work and pay their taxes and are in other ways good law-abiding citizens which are morons when it comes to history and politics. They never learned the vital lesson that government is a necessary evil that should never be trusted and must be watched at all times.

The former type hates the government or anything that would tolerate capitalism and various liberties . The two later want their freedoms, do not hate capitalism, and trust the government.

I have a sister and a niece that both belong in the final category. One is a life long social worker that graduated from Ball State and the other just completed her Masters in Earth Sciences. Both buy into the climate BS.

      • Gail Combs says:

you are correct. So we have two different categories the actual tr@toirs and their useful idiot puppets.

(I lived too long in Boston where the T’s were completely out of the closet and in your face.)

think of the strength and fuel of this typhoon that first hit the Phillipines on October 6th and was still churning when it slammed into Tacloban on October 12!

Has anyone looked into the influence of Al Gore and his Climate Reality Project, in the Philippines?
