So he simply made it up, and made created a completely fake hottest September ever.
But there was a little problem. Antarctica had record sea ice last month, which our corrupt friends at NASA show covered with record heat. The animation below overlays the record sea ice on the GISS fake and measured data. Note that the areas of excess ice around East Antarctica are reported as above normal temperature. That defies the laws of science.
It is completely corrupt, but it is worse than it seems. Most of the stations which Gavin shows as having high anomalies relative to the 1951-1980 baseline, don’t actually have any data from that period.
The whole GISS temperature record has become scientific malfeasance – from top to bottom.

I just went to “Weather Underground Antarctica” and there were at least 80 stations listed. So the weather there shoud not be a huge mystery.
It is now mid-Spring there and of those 80+ stations, at least 8 of them were colder than -60 F and only one of them was above +21 F. Just sizzling hot there!
It was a couple of degrees warmer than normal in many of the Antarctic stations.
Vostok for instance was -62.3C in September 2014 versus the average -65.9C. This increased warmth obviously led to more Antarctic ice. Antarctica is just coming out of winter you know (the coldest winter on Earth that is where warmth means unbelievably cold).
Official station records in Antarctica here. Only the Antarctic Peninsula shows warming until about 1980 after which it stopped. Everywhere else is roughly Zero trend.

Refreshing to see, but he probably got it into Nature or at the very least a slightly weaker journal than BAMS. Then it was probably cited by thousands of newspapers.

Over the past several years and on several blogs, I have made the observation that 1 Celsius degree is not the same thing as 1 Degree Celsius. Roy Spencer seems not to care by showing the Sept. anomaly as +0.29° C, when what he means is +0.29 C°. Insofar as almost everyone does this, all are misleading viewers as to what reality is like.
Now because of default settings used for mapping we get below freezing temperature shown on a map as a red color about like a blistering hot day in Tombstone, AZ.
It is enough to make me turn off the computer and read a science fiction novel – most make more sense than “climate science.”
For those of us who may have missed your previous explanations, can you elaborate on what you mean by …

Perception is important. People are used to seeing maps with daily (or longer) temperatures taken at point sources and then the colors are smeared and smoothed over the entire area. Red colors are used to show hot temperature, blue shows cold, and so on. People have become very used to this (default) color scheme and so seeing, say southern Texas as a red zone makes sense. Seeing north central Canada blue makes sense.
If the color scheme is reversed such that north central Canada is shown as red while southern Texas is shown as blue – most folks would experience perceptual dissonance – that is, they would not accept this map as truthful.
The Polar map promulgated by the Federal agency (GISS) and used in this post does not use temperatures. Rather it presents a change in temperature. The measurements are in Celsius degrees as compared to an average. Say the actual temperature is -50.0° C while the average is -51.0° C. The difference is +1.0 C°. It is not one degree Celsius, an actual temperature above freezing (in the Fahrenheit scale that is 33.8).
The anomaly of +1.0 calculated from the Celsius data can be reported in the Fahrenheit scale is +1.8. These calculated numbers are not temperatures.
People using anomalies as a regular part of their work understands all of the above. Still, I wonder if even they can look at the 2nd map in this post and not have their mind register “hot” in Antarctica. To see such a map on the TV news for a few seconds is to think “hot” – but it is really dangerously cold.
The solution would be to devise a graphic presentation for anomalies that does not mimic temperatures.
All this is an entirely different notion of “fake” laid on top of the fake data that the post is about.

I believe he is trying to differenciate between a temperatures (in °C or °F), and a stated difference between two temperatures.
It would be equalent to saying (for an anomaly of x Celsius),
“That’s x C°.”, as a shorthand for “That’s x Celsius, not Fahrenheit, degrees of difference.”

The question is: If the international community of physicist (BIPM) says that a difference in temperatures is to be “expressed in either degrees Celsius or in kelvin”, it makes no sense when some well-meaning citizen decides to introduce and use another unit.
The “international community” unfortunately being in Paris (France, not Texas) already results in enough confusion and disorder in the way Americans try to use units of measurement.

I had it happen to me twice with the SoB’s who stole two of my semi trucks and a 48 ft reffer. Plenty of evidence including police officer eye wittnesses and Prepass records of out of state travel. ** The case was placed on the bottom of the pile and other dirty tricks like telling the criminal he could go home at the beginning of the day but making us sit through court the entire day. This was done repeatedly though the ten years. If we miss a day we automatically lose/get contempt of court charges. It is a very nasty but effective way to push busy people into dropping the charges. We didn’t so they stalled until the ReBoobs were in office who appologised and said they would bring it to court and then suddenly told us the case was too old to go to court in an abrupt turn around.

the supposedly open and transparent consultations have proved to be no such thing,as unbelievably in some cases ngo,s representing a particular group have been tasked with running the final decision process in choosing options for management in one zone,and surprise surprise,all the options presented that attendees had to choose from offer severe restrictions on activities that were previously unregulated and deemed historic rights for anglers.
the only way to challenge this is deal direct with those hiding behind the ngo,s as individuals,not organisations.
Do I detect even more statistical malfeasance in Antarctica? The few below-normal stations that are identified there seem to be getting short shrift in the homogenization process. (Don’t miss seeing the one little spot in East Antarctica, because the problem seems to be going on there, too.) Could there be some kind of arbitrary “adjustment” being made to the anomaly values prior to homogenization?
