Progressives tell us that the election geography favored Republicans
Don’t let anybody tell you that these two factors, geography and turnout, weren’t a huge part of the story.
The “election geography” is what we normally call the USA.

And they vilify the people that live in those Red areas.
Can you supply a map with the accent on population rather than the actual geography. In other words, distort the map with the population in a red or blue area determining the extent.
If that is don I suspect that the Blue areas would look gigantic.
Dan Kurt
How about a map weighted by people who actually work for a living. The blue areas would vanish.
LOL! Now, Tony… It is not that they don’t work. It is just that they don’t do much that is productive. Does the job title “community organizer” sound familiar?
🙂

A 2012 map for such is here:

Sorry, don’t see one for work. (short search, though)
That map is by state, not representative district. Not as informative as what Goddard wants.

Kurt if you knew your geography you could see for yourself from map above that large population centers are blue. Just look at New York the state.
This is a serious question. Is there something about modern urban living that induces a form of insanity in humans? Do city dwellers have a “zoo-raised-animal” mentality?
Yes, and Yes.
Daniel Henninger of the Wall Street Journal sums up the election:
“Obama proved that six years of low economic growth is a total political loser.”

“election geography”
If someone is not familiar with the term “gerrymander” [Gerry-mander]; compliments of Elbridge Gerry, Gov. of Mass. in 1812.
Note how the Arizona 1st district includes most of the north and east of the state but wraps around (with a hook shape) into the south-central area south of the major urban areas.
In Washington State the lines were reconfigured and this year the people running for state office had to adjust so folks we voted for in previous years ran in a different area. We encountered a bunch of new names on the ubiquitous signs along the roads.
Districts one and three are gerrymandered to look blue in Arizona. Outside the Phoenix and Tucson city limits the character of those districts changes quickly.
At the state government level a majority of elective offices is safely red.
VA’s 3rd and NC’s 1st set the standard for gerrymandering now.
The court ruled them unconstitutional. When they did, I had to laugh. The MSM and the democrats of course, accused the republicans of the districts. The problem is that the district (here in VA, I have no clue about NC) was created by the democrats AND the DOJ! It was a DOJ Mandate that created that snake and a democrat governor and Assembly that drew it! Why?
So some idiot that does not realize the slaves had been freed could get elected to congress based upon his skin color.
Republicans, in the Commonwealth of Virginia at least, had nothing to do with it. Indeed, when it was done, the Citizens CRIED to Governor Doug Wilder for redress (for those not familiar, he was the first black governor in the nation), and he marginally changed it. Not substantially.
Well the democrats have a real problem there too then. The GOP controls 26 states. By “controls” I mean they have majorities in both houses of the state legislature and a Republican Gov. According to NPR today, the GOP gained over 300 seats in state legislatures this election and is stronger on the state level now than it has been in 100 years!
And purely by counting all the seats in state legislatures they are on track to own a historic high number of total legislative seats eclipsing their high of 4,100 seats in 1928!
Much has been said about the national results but the fact is that the state results were just as damaging to the democrats. Think about the repercussions of that for the Democrat party. The state offices are the farm teams where politicians are developed that go to federal offices.

Here endeth the geography lesson the democrats and their liberal press would rather not talk about.
Unfortunately that is not true in the suburbs of DC. Virginia has a carpetbagger governor (moved here by the clintons) and “Steyers wannabee” as a senator.

People have a death wish? Well, if they want to freeze to death, that is one of the places to go.
Are they expecting an influx of polar bears from the north ?
From that article: “figures that show Canada historically contributes 2.1% of global greenhouse gas emissions, despite comprising a .5% share of the world’s population.”
So Fred, it is your duty to see that Canada help raise the GHG emissions of energy-poor countries and, thereby, changing the numbers to reflect more positively on such a fine country as Canuckistan.
I just voted NO in the poll while living in Washington State. Hope that’s okay.
Looking at the map, I think the people of Minnesota may need a geography lesson. They’re voting as if they believe they live on the coast.

Are my eyes deceiving me, or are all three districts of West Virginia (!) red?
While showing pre-election polls all tilted towards Democrats… Rachel Maddow said the polls were wrong because… Because people simply change their minds in the voting booth… Ignoring the obvious Dem tilt bias in the polls… She basically said people vote against their interests and suffer from bipolar outbursts ONLY while in the voting booth.., sarc…
Still… Not once did MSNBC address the obvious bias trend in polling… Happens every cycle…
