  2. The pH of ocean water is 8.1 and ranges from 7.9 to 8.4. Below 7.9 all life as we know it will die. Carbonate shells and coral will dissolve and the ocean will fizz like seltzer.

In fresh water lakes and rivers, the pH is always below 7, and as low as 4 or 5. Life thrives and all the freshwater shellfish and coral have no problem with their carbonate shells.

So, the problem is not the acidification, it’s the stupidification.
