They ignore Islamists, their kindred spirits because Muslims are seen as a growing future voter bloc. Everything is about electioneering, replacing previously disillusioned voter blocs with newer dupes.
@JeffK
No, there is something deeper going on.Something as old as creation.
Could not agree more, gettimorthy. Jesus accurately described the truth of the entire situation when He said: “If the world hates you, remember that it hated Me first.” (John 15:18)
There you go…”Remember that it hated Me first.”
Marxists are of the same mind set as the Islamo-nazis. Control.
When Sharia law is established through mealy-mouthed political correctness, it is the gays, rape victims, and the unmarried females that will be targeted first.
Ritual state-sponsored murder of homosexuals. Transgenders will simply be reduced to compost.
Stoning of complaining [female] rape victims
Genital mutilation [clitorectomies] of unmarried females to deny sexual pleasure
Yeah, sounds like “Progressive Paradise” to me
[OK /sarc, if you really need it]
Trivia time! Who made this infamous ignorant statement?
Quote: “Islamic Law”…Nobody fears it. It doesn’t actually exist
Winner gets a raptor stew!
The liar in chief.
Obama!
Still paddling in your dried up puddles….i meet lots of muslims and none have referred to sharia law as islamic law….even our hyperbolic newspapers bitch about sharia law….
Anyhow who cares what they call it – because unless you are amuslim it doesn’t apply to you.
Pass the raptor before it’s overcooked, cheers
A dose of reality. Friend of mine sent me the perspective of a military friend:
“East is East & West is West” By Major General Jerry Curry, USA, Ret. [1/28/2012]
The great British poet Rudyard Kipling, understanding today’s situation in Afghanistan better than our State Department wrote, “I have eaten your bread and salt. I have drunk your water and wine. The deaths ye died I’ve watched beside. And the lives ye led were mine.”
There are two points the President and the Secretaries of State and Defense may want to keep in mind as they evaluate future problems in the Mid-East & how to successfully address them. Both are easiest illustrated by real life happenings.
Many years ago I attended the Infantry officer Advanced Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. Probably ten percent of the students attending that ten month course of instruction were from foreign countries. For about half of the course my table-mate was an Arab. We studied together, completed homework assignments together, got to know each other’s families and generally enjoyed each other’s company. Part of that time we students were immersed in reading about, researching and discussing wars and problems of the Middle East . By this time my Arab classmate and I had, I thought,
become close friends. A question popped into my mind and without evaluating it I said, “I have a question to ask you, but you may find it a little impertinent, or perhaps, offensive.”
“That’s quite alright,” he replied. “We know each other well enough to be honest with each other. So go ahead and ask your question.” “Well,” I began. “Each time you Arabs start a war with Israel, they beat your socks off. Why don’t you learn your lesson and quit making war on them?”
The words hadn’t passed my lips before I knew that I shouldn’t have asked that particular question. But I was wrong. My Arab officer friend didn’t get angry. He didn’t even think before replying. “My dear friend,” he said in his British accent, “You are absolutely right. Each time we attack the Israelis they whip us. But have you noticed that with each loss we get better. We get whipped not as badly as in the war before.”
Then he got a faraway look in his eyes, pounded on the table & said, “Sometime in the next thousand years, we will win!” Up until then I’d never thought in terms of a thousand years, & I don’t think I’m very good at it today. But for those formulating foreign and defense policy for the nation, it is worth making the effort. For it’s difficult to think in terms of the immediate future while negotiating w/a nation whose leaders are thinking in terms of hundreds or thousands of years.
Pt. 2: During the 1 st Gulf War US & Arab forces fought side by side, & some of the officers became close friends. When the war ended in victory there was a celebration in the O’Club w/congrats all around. A lot of handshaking & hugging was going on. It was a time of displaying real brotherly love. Seeing this, one of the sr. Arab generals felt the need to set the record straight. “Look,” he said to a small cluster of American generals. “We’ve fought together & some of us have died together. I know you feel that makes us brothers. But that’s not the way it is in my world.”
He looked around the circle making eye contact with all of them. “I don’t want to see you hurt so I need to share this with you. There will be no tomorrow for us jointly. No matter how much you have helped my country-& you came & helped us when we desperately needed your help-& no matter how friendly you feel toward us, we are still Muslims and you are
still Christians. That means that in our eyes, we can never be brothers. I’m sorry but, to us, you will always be Infidels!”
Yes, we Infidels have liberated Iraq & Afghanistan, but we’ve not made their countries, nor their people, depositories of freedom & liberty. No matter how hard we work to rebuild their govts, infrastructure, educational & medical institutions, & no matter how desperately they need our help-as the Arab general noted-we can never be brothers to each othe r.
r.
Also, I learned what Kipling meant when he wrote, “East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet.” He was pointing out to the western world that to Muslims, we Christians will always be infidels!”
Great use of poetic licence…..i’ll have a big mac with fries if you’re done
Figures you would want a Big Mac. That sandwich offers the least value compared to all the other burgers the McDonalds menu.
….and a vanilla shake too
We have a winner! (not really)
To Arabic-speaking people, sharia (/????ri???/;[1] also shari’a, shar??ah; Arabic: ?????? šar??ah, IPA: [?a?ri??a], “legislation”) means the moral code and religious law of a prophetic religion.[2][3][4] The term “sharia” has been largely identified with Islam in English usage.[5]
Sharia (Islamic law) deals with several topics including: crime, politics, and economics, as well as personal matters such as sexual intercourse, hygiene, diet, prayer, everyday etiquette and fasting..
Good post Rah. I try to earn from all, and the long term perspective you articulate, was and is an education to me. Patience is a great virtue.
There is a second part of that Kipling quote rarely reiterated, and even more rarely acted on…”but when a wise man from the East, meets a wise man from the West, then the twain shall meet.”
Alas though, the Muslim world does not yet appear ready to throw off the yoke of dark age theology, made most apparent by the proliferation of Sharia Law, which is Muslim, which Chris Baron cannot wish away, though he tries. Until Islam reforms the current understanding of their own faith, then physical violence is not avoidable not just with Christians, but with any view of Muslim, not belonging to a certain sect.
Put it this way my intention to abide by sharia law is about the same as yours is….and his….and hers…..and theirs.
We’re not sheep.. sharia law will be beaten by daytime tv, junkfood and repeats of CSI Baghdad…. Freedom trumps religion
Many murdered Russians had no interest in obeying Stalin’s laws. They are still dead. Same thing in China, Cambodia, and many parts of the Middle East. The Christians being killed by ISIS have no intention of obeying Sharia law. At least you now acknowledge that Sharia Law is Islamic. Now try to grasp that a part of Sharia law specifically deals with how to treat folk like you, weather you want to follow it or not. Freedom also requires strength and sacrifice.
Religious control of the masses has been dominant for much of the last two millennia.
Perhaps in the end freedom would trump religious persecution (hopefully). But it appears globally sharia is growing, not shrinking. And, most people are sheep – we believe what we see on CNN (or the BBC), and what we read in our newspapers.
We need only look to court decisions and municipalities in France and other nation states around the globe – even Dearborn, Michigan, where we see sharia and its influence gaining ground. (Luckily, the state court ruled against Dearborn.)
I agree and much of what you say is true…however….do you honestly think that if your government passed a law compelling parents to subject their daughters to FGM that those parents are just going to say “Oh okay, there must be a good reason for it” ?
You keep missing the point, entirely.
Am I…or am I being realistic in a way which you know makes sense.
Let religious people be religious I say….don’t tell me what to do and I won”t have to punch you 😉 Many people are this way.
