The area of the country reaching 100 degrees sometime during the summer has plummeted.
The average summer maximum temperature has also plummeted, with summer 2015 more than four degrees cooler than 1936.
Expecting another fabulous US corn crop this season with near perfect growing weather and timely rains this summer.
We are almost into September and my heat sensitive white clover is still green and blooming. That makes three summers in a row that the clover did not turn into a crisp critter.

Wisconsin’s mean temperatures can be divided into four periods: the 1890s through 1920s when temperatures fluctuated both above and below the mean temperature; the 1930s, ’40s and early ’50s when temperatures were consistently above normal; the late 1950s through the early ’80s when temperatures were consistently below normal; and the late ’80s through the present when temperatures appear to fluctuate above and below the norm again.
