Greg Bacon’s first year in Missouri was his hottest, and the entire state was in extreme drought, along with much of the rest of the US
The summer of 1954 was the third hottest in US history, after 1936 and 1934.
New England was hit by two major hurricanes within two weeks in 1954, and none in the sixty-one years since 1954.
Greg believes that the climate is becoming hotter and more extreme, because he listens to government propaganda, and confuses it with his own faulty memory.

Let’s not forget Hurricane Hazel in October 1954, considered the worst hurricane in North Carolina history, hit the NC coast as a CAT 4, brought hurricane force winds to DC and all the way up to Ontario. Massive flooding in the Toronto area killed 80+. That was after it killed close to 1,000 in Haiti.
Then the massive Hurricane Connie and Diane floods over the Northeast just a year later in 1955.
I’m wondering why Greg didn’t mention how much bigger the fish were back in the day. Who could forget the 1954 National Catfish Queen?

Frozen ground by Thanksgiving, every winter…in Missouri?
Frozen ponds, thick enough to skate on…in Missouri?
My guess is that this guy is remembering when he was in grade school in the sixties. I doubt he was walking fences and tending hogs as a toddler.
This is the Kennedy effect.
Remembers back to one of the coldest periods in the past century and, since he has not paid attention to the weather much since, believe he can do “climate by childhood anecdote”.
What a joke. This guy is a buffoon.
Like NASA and NOAA he seems to have his own made up Temperature Record.
Nice ! 🙂
Although not major hurricanes, Connie and Diane in the year after in 1955 formed a potent one-two punch that eviscerated the industrial Naugatuck Valley in Connecticut with flooding.
My mistake, Connie was a major, but didn’t directly hit New England.
