Seven years ago, California Governor Jerry Brown predicted the LA airport would drown.

Sea level at LA has been rising an average of 1 mm/year over the past century, and has hardly risen at all over the past 40 years.

The LA airport is more than 30 meters (30,000 mm) above sea level, so it could potentially drown in only 30,000 years.

    10-4. A quick check with Google Earth shows LAX way above sea level.

    I spose the story was way too important to LA Times to do a 30 second check. Where the heck is Perry White when you need him?

    So Obama,Al Gore,Bill Gates etc bought their beach and island properties only to get the chance
    to spent billions of dollars to cope with the consequences of sea level rise.
    Do gooders at work.

    Obamas 11.5 mio dollar mansion can be completely under water and the LA Airport would still be 15m above sea level.

    Central America emerged as an extension of the Great Andes Mountain and every day it is higher and higher. California is an extension of Central America, so every day is taller.
