Climate experts say glacial ice in East Antarctica has been stable throughout human history until a heatwave last week.
“An ice shelf the size of New York City has collapsed in East Antarctica, an area long thought to be stable and not hit much by climate change, concerned scientists said.
The collapse, captured by satellite images, marked the first time in human history that the frigid region had an ice shelf collapse.”

Eight years ago, climate experts got trapped by icebergs calving off of ice shelves in East Antarctica.

During last week’s “heatwave” temperatures warmed up to -12C.
“East Antarctica saw unusually high temperatures last week, with Concordia station hitting a record temperature of -11.8C on 18 March
Peter Neff, a glaciologist and assistant research professor at the University of Minnesota, said that to see even a small ice shelf collapse in East Antarctica was a surprise.
“We still treat East Antarctica like this massive, high, dry, cold and immovable ice cube,” he said. “Current understanding largely suggests you can’t get the same rapid rates of ice loss [as in West Antarctica] due to the geometry of the ice and bedrock there.”
“This collapse, especially if tied to the extreme heat brought by the mid-March atmospheric river event, will drive additional research into these processes in the region.”

So according to climate experts, history began after the year 2014 and the melting point of ice is now -12C. Icebergs break off East Antarctica regularly.
““The calving will not directly affect sea level, because the ice shelf was already floating, much like an ice cube in a glass of water,” Dr Galton-Fenzi said.”
Gigantic iceberg breaks off East Antarctica – Australian Antarctic Program (News 2019)
In 2009, CNN reported on a giant iceberg approaching Australia.
“The iceberg, measuring 140 square km cleaved off an ice shelf nearly 10 years ago
In November this year a flotilla of icebergs was spotted drifting towards New Zealand’s coast”
-12 C = 10.4 F.
An ice shelf is sea ice. No sea ice is truly “stable” because it is floating on water and is affected by wind and wave action and tidal influences. Then there is the ice from glaciers inland flowing to the sea that push and sometimes buckle the sea ice. And then of course, there is volcanism and plate tectonics.
Yep, Man doesn’t get to determine what’s “stable,” Nature does.
You gotta Love it!

Scientists are scaredy-cats.
My retired pilot buddy wrote this. He was an airline pilot and also a pilot in the Air Force reserve flying the C-141 a 4 engine jet transport that the C-17 has replaced now. I met Donny through a career Air Force flight engineer friend that said Donny was the best pilot he ever flew with.
When they flew the C141 to Antarctica the ice they landed on was over the sea, it had to be 14 feet thick, and even then it would ripple as the plane touched down.
A veritable treasure trove of climate data has been unearthed:
Watch it disappear.
Satellite data is equally problematic.
If there is anything different with the climate, we are living in a relatively calm period compared to the past. In spite of this, scientists on the dole, the media, big tech, globalist institutions and governments have done a great job selling the so-called “climate emergency” to the public. Mother Nature has always / will always provide fodder for propagandizing, so-called ‘climate experts’ who will in turn call any weather event evidence of the ‘climate change’ problem which they have completely conjured.
In spite of all evidence to the contrary, a low-IQ public will forever continue lapping up the spin, just as useful idiot politicians will continue damaging our economy and our national security – in complete submission to the climate clown show total-control Agenda. How to break the cycle?

Even Roy Spenser now says that almost all of the .2C warming per decade over tge last 35 years has been caused by man burning fossil fuels.
Yeah, I saw the interview. If I recall correctly, he’s been saying he believes in CO2-caused warming for a long time (but that he doesn’t think there is evidence it is catastrophic). If it’s what he really believes, who knows? I am such a cynic anymore, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s that he doesn’t want to be shot at again or cancelled. One gets splinters riding a fence.
