   Putin is no dummy, and will do what’s best to protect his own natural resources. And the people calling anyone a Nazi or a Putin shill for saying this are the same people who call Trump supporters Nazis or Russian shills, while it is they who are now supporting the nazi regime in Ukraine by flying the Ukrainian flag in their bio and calling Zelensky a hero. He’s merely a puppet for the evil neo nazi Azov Batallion who’s ruling the place, and responsible for murdering thousands that don’t agree, mostly ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine.
   Putin’s demands were to stop the slaughter of ethnic Russians and keep Ukraine neutral.
   Having Ukraine become a nato state would be the same as having communist China take over Central America then try to annex Mexico so they can put a military base 10 miles from San Diego, Las Cruces New Mexico, or Brownsville Texas.
   He wants a safe buffer zone from NATO forces in Western Europe

   Russia has the oil, natural gas and coal Western Europe NEEDS. Putin uses the leverage to suppress Western Europe’s production of all 3 AND to influence the region’s politics.

   In contrast, NATO nations know Russia DEPENDS on oil, natural gas and coal export revenues. So, NATO nations implement energy policies that ENRICH and empower RUSSIA by impoverishing & subjugating NATO nations. WHY?????
