If I were there, I would just walk up and kick them in the elbow of the arm stuck to the wall. Hopefully it would come off, at the shoulder.

After I became disillusioned (and relieved) about global warming, unbeknownst to me, I had another disillusionment ahead of me. I spread the good news and my joy to my liberal friends, replete with all the new scientific facts I had learned. Instead of being relieved, also, they ignored what I said, called me a climate change denier, gullible for right-wing propaganda among other things, and had absolutely zero scientific rebuttal. Their minds were closed tighter than a clam with lockjaw.

They repeated the rote ‘facts’ du jour (this was in ’09-’10, which at the time included poley bear extinction, desertification, Mount Kilimanjaro, West Antarctica, etc.).

That’s when I began to realize people on the left side of the aisle are not nearly as intelligent as I thought. Most think with their emotions (including what others will think of them if they stray too far from the farm). I soon realized some of them are simply downright, stubborn idiots, regardless of how many degrees they held. Most of them never learn. Roger Hallam, with his 5 years in time-out, will likely be one of them.

In 2010 I shucked my Democrat friends, my NPR addiction and changed my political affiliation. Never a regret.

Mr. Dis, I had the same experience with a family member. That same family member later on berated me for not getting a experimental so called vaccine for covid-19. This gentleman also convinced my daughters not to spend Christmas with me that year because I was a danger to them for being unvaccinated. How? He also always wore a mask. Bottom line we all got covid and we all lived to tell. I’m still waiting for his explanation on why the vaccine and mask didn’t save him from covid.

        Bob,
(You already know you’ll never get that explanation.) It’s amazing how little cognitive dissonance (or shame) people on the Left possess. Even more amazing, most keep falling the same (or similar) failed scams, till the day they die. Not a good sign for intelligence.

I am sorry the bully (referring to him as a gentleman seems to be very generous) convinced your girls not to spend Christmas with you. I hope those who got the jabs have not had any bad reactions or chronic health repercussions.

This gentleman relative of mine is a very smart guy. He has an ability to turn a blind eye to every stupid thing the Left promotes and a very critical eye of all things Trump. If a few of trumps enterprises went bankrupt and hundreds didn’t, he only focuses on the failures. Funny thing is he’s an occasional professional poker player. I just want to say to him bluffing isn’t something that’s only done in poker!!! Michael Mann and his ilk have made a good living bluffing. Mann even fooled a jury

        • Disillusioned says:

          Bob,
I apologize for referring to your gentleman relative as a bully. It sounded as if he is a bit heavy handed in his approach, and I felt for you that your daughters did not visit at Christmas because of his influence, and I took a liberty I should not have.

My belief is that the purpose of organizations such as “Just Stop Oil” and “Extinction Rebellion” is to serve as recruitment grounds for emotionally unstable and easily led young people. They are sent to do missions initially harmless protest but then increasingly risky and outrageous.

Once they have a supply of known cult followers who as brave, loyal and just the right amount unhinged … these make extremely valuable foot soldiers for political purposes. You might guess that recent years have discouraged me from thinking the best of people.

    • Conrad Ziefle says:

Religion is easier than thinking. Following the crowd is easier than doing what is right. Being accepted is more comforting than being righteous. I’m sure there are more, but in general, many people want to fit in, and they are willing to fit into the most atrocious of things.
The jab. My daughter in an RN and she has really bought into it. They now are in Ireland with COVID. One of the things I have heard about getting too many jabs, I think from Robert Malone, is that it begins to develop the type of antibodies that work against allergies. In other words, they tell your body to ignore that, it isn’t really a problem. This could be very harmful.

  5. People lacking the in depth knowledge to spot the obvious errors in globalist sponsored pseudo science either believe every word or give up on science altogether. I don’t no which I fear most the cult following of AGW humbug or the ever growing tinfoil hat brigade, which has sprouted a crop of Erich von Daniken lookalikes promoting ever more outrageous conspiracies, all based on the premise that everything from legitimate science is a lie. We must all try and steer the narrow channel between the Scylla of corrupted science and the Charybdis of peudo-science. Sadly, our education system is such that few can negotiate the path successfully.

If he does any time at all, it won’t be more than two years.

  7. Peter Carroll says:

Roger Hallam was also a founding member of Extinction Rebellion. He was an “organic farmer” (on 10 acres) in South Wales and blamed extreme weather events for the destruction of his business.
He claimed to have studied for his PhD in “Civil Disobedience” at Kings College, London,
researching on how to achieve social change through radical movements.
He was sole director of, Radical Think Tank Ltd. whose business was listed as, “research and experimental development on social sciences and humanities”.
(What, no mention of climate change) ?
