Any day now. Meanwhile the trend in the number of Polar Bears standing on ice floes is heading up up up. Native people find this trend “ominous”.

  2. conrad ziefle says:

This guy figures he will have vaulted far enough up the tree of journalism such that three years from now, he will be unaccountable regarding his ludicrous prediction.

  3. MLH says:

I recall hearing this prediction before.

  4. Paul Marks says:

Each time their predictions are refuted by reality they just put off the date another few years – that is not how science is supposed to work. If the predictions of a theory fail one is supposed to abandon the theory.

  5. Timo, not that one! says:

This is like the sign in the bar that says “Free Beer…Tomorrow”

“The world will end in 20 years!”

  6. Disillusioned says:

Paul Beckwith has to be involved, somehow. Nobody makes such a short prediction, and really believes it. Except for Paul. I will never forget his 2013 melt prediction… which he made in … 2013. Neither will Tony.

  7. Billyjack says:

One does have to appreciate in the Church of Warming that repeated false prophesies do not reduce the flock size. When an Evangelical preacher calls out the flock out for the second coming and He doesn’t appear, the flock doesn’t show up the next time.

  8. Luigi says:

Sorry Tony, but now I am really getting lost.
Ice free Arctic wasn’t already in 2000?

    ?

  9. Bill says:

    Hey, Grok got one right!

If all of the arctic sea ice melted, how much would the oceans rise?

    Answer:
If all the Arctic sea ice were to melt, the sea level would not rise at all. This is because sea ice is already floating on the ocean.

    Good Grok!
