  1. Disillusioned says:

That gray band over central Missouri, southern Illinois, southern Indiana and a large swath of northern and central Kentucky is unappealing – especially since the timing it coincides with an Arctic blast – we folks living along or near the Mason-Dixon line will likely be dealing with it for longer than what’s usually expected. We are far enough north that we usually get a couple measurable snowfalls per winter season. But, we’re far enough south that it usually melts fast. We get the pretty white stuff, but we generally don’t have to live with all of the nasty for very long. Generally. :?|

  2. Greg in NZ says:

Snowfall in ‘winter’ makes perfect sense, but in summer? Decades after it was declared RIP? Plus all the burning & boiling & strange lights in the sky?

    NZ MetService Mountain Forecast –
    3 January South Island: Snow 1,600 m
    5 January North Island: Snow 1,500 m
(down to about 5,000’, ie. foothills/ski areas)

The last 2-3 weeks have been Groundhog Day with cold southerlies looping around and around with rain drenching the ‘drought-stricken’ east coast – even though experts predicted ongoing drought – while the west (wet) coast has had all the sunshine: Nature’s sense of humour wins again.

  3. Peter Carroll says:

If “scientists say” and “experts predict” there will be no more snow, then this white, cold, wet stuff we’re experiencing now, can’t be snow. It must be something else.
I’m sure it’s not too late for Biden to set up a Government Funded Work Avoidance Program, to investigate this new, “white stuff”!
