Government experts tell us that the planet has steadily warmed, and ice has steadily decreased since 1910. Please be a good citizen and do not read the following newspaper articles. Thanks in advance.

Even now. We have to wait another 10 years before global warming is expected to return. So what does that say? It has been shown that there has be no warming for the past 19 years now. So, are we in a cooling then? Could we be headed for another ice age ourselves right now?
It all looks like it’s cyclical to me.

Those who control the present control the past. Sad state of affairs in climatology (a fledgling scientific discipline compared to most others) and which apparently has a lot of “scientists” in its ranks who put ideology ahead of the truth.

  3. I’ve finished not reading the articles and I’m ready to take the government test. In which line should I wait for the vouchers for this week’s food ration and a roll of toilet paper?

The world is warming! Long live the Leader!

Each an example of straight line thinking in a cyclical world.

Well, we now all know that scientists were WAAYYY dumber back in the 60s and 70s! They didn’t have iPads and never once took a selfie of themselves in their dusty old labs. How could they know anything? Today, we know everything, because we have the internet! The planet is warming. Too much food is bad for you. Exercise is good/bad for you. The seas are boiling hot. The land is parched and barren or too wet and flooding. The ice is melting. And solar energy can supply all of our energy needs! We are SOOOO smart. (Let me take another selfie so I can see how smart I am).

As you’ve so ably shown in many earlier posts here, climate scientists have been fiddling with the past to make the case for a warming trend more pronounced. So far, it’s been done by taking reams of data that most people generally won’t ever examine, and massaging it to show what it didn’t show before the massage, and figuring that most people will accept the conclusions of an authoritative source. As we’ve seen, most people have.

Orwell’s “1984” had an entire ministry devoted to massaging the past for the sole purpose of keeping those in power secure. Here the ministry hasn’t yet figured out how to handle those pesky little news clippings that you find so useful, and damning. But you can bet they’re working on it. Perhaps they’ll someday just be “disappeared” along with all the original data that they’ve been massaging, leaving only the past that they desire.

Paranoid? Yes, a bit I suppose, but sometimes they really are out to get you, or in this case, your tax dollars.

[Steven, did you inadvertently reverse the “Direct temperature measurements” and “Mann et al 1999” on the graph?]
