Earlier they said that Richard Alley forecast 20 degrees of warming, but that is ridiculous. He actually only forecast a very conservative 16 degrees of warming. Once the planet gets over the current cooling, it is going to heat up super fast.

Sixteen degrees F doesn’t sound quite so alarmist as eighteen to twenty, does it.
I think Doctor Richard B Alley is verging on “denialism” with stuff like this, not only that, but there is certainly no “cooling” going on in the Northern Hemisphere, it is hyper-warming of the Arctic that we’re experiencing now.
This outrageous skepticism of his is explained by the fact that he is a professor of geoscience at that far-right think tank, Penn State University
YEAH! RIGHT! It is all BS no matter what numbers he is pulling out of his A##!
My wife tells me not to get so “angry” with these people, but I have found they don’t to listen to a bit of reason or sense.
Last week I told a professor of physics that this global warming crap violated the second law of thermodynamics. He called me a “jackass” and told me that the second law of thermodynamics doesn’t apply to the Earth.
If his variety of thinking prevails or is commonplace, the situation is nothing but hopeless
He qualifies for residence in the HOME and that makes him qualified to teach!
I just sit around and watch my trees grow these days but one of my last clients before retiring was UNLV so I have some experience with academics.
“He called me a “jackass” and told me that the second law of thermodynamics doesn’t apply to the Earth. ”
That “classical physics is optional” sort of thinking is all too pervasive . They will get Bs or better in tek classes , and even learn how to program Navier-Stokes finite element “climate models” , but they will fail to take seriously the constraints imposed by , or even know how to do , the calculation of the the temperature of a simple radiantly heated colored ball .
I just read a very good description of their cranial chaos at http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/question-insanity-what-to-ask-progressives/ .
Yeessss my family is also getting quite sick of me ranting and raving whilst pacing back and forth. Often I find I’ve ended up raving to myself, they’ve slinkered off. Even the dog doesn’t hang around any more for his usual kick.
Other than the blogs I’ve got no other way to unload my anger and frustration about these wacko pronouncements by climatologists.
I think I’m going mad. Maybe that’s their strategy, send all sceptics mad. The average punter isn’t listening to them so they won’t go mad. Once we’re all committed, the coast will be clear for these wacko alarmists to achieve their goal.
Baa, I am retired, with plenty of time in the evening, and I visit at least 10 different blogs every night. I am familiar with your comments and I like them very much. You are, with Atomic Hairdryer and Raven, legend on the skeptic AND varmista’s blogosphere. Please, keep doing good work. Illegitimi non carborundum est.
Oh, it’s 16 degrees.Well, in that case………
BTW, does the guy know what the weather will be next Friday?
I don’t think the “hockey stick” looks too good right now!
Ahh, don’t worry, they just make something else up.
Baa Humbug
If its any satisfaction I used to rant and rave about GW, I have pretty well stopped over the last 10 months since I figure it is so obvious that its a big scam that anyone with half a brain knows it, those that dont either are paid to keep up the scam(I cant influence), are not really interested(and thats their choice) or are dumb and/or naive.
The debate is over, its like having a real discussion with someone who believes in Santa claus, yes really believes, why spoil their belief.
So many of my friends are convinced and/or committed “Warmistas” (and I was, myself, until Mann’s ludicrous chart tried to blow up fundamental Archeological facts) that I try not to bring the subject up, but when the subject DOES come up, I try hard to let them know I can only believe in AGW if I DISBELIEVE in Archeology, which, by the way, I cannot.
I’ll bet real $$ that Michael Mann created hundreds of thousands (millions?) of Skeptics – folks like me with enough training in the Archeological and Geological sciences can only laugh out loud at patently false graphs like the hockey stick…
“Once the planet gets over the current cooling, it is going to heat up super fast.”
Probably what they said in the Little Ice Age – all 3 centuries of it.
