Oklahoma City’s 106 tied the heat record set there for July in 1914 Henryetta, Okla., reported 112, Ada, 108, and McAlester, 107. :

Vernon, Tex, where 115 was re- corded, passed its twenty-first consecutive day of 100-degree weather. Today’s mark was the season’s highest there.”
