Professor Mark Maslin says the North Atlantic Ocean is record hot and red hot.
In 1922, the water around Svalbard was 15C. This year the water is about 5C.
“formerly the waters about Spitzbergen held an even summer temperature of about 3° Celsius; this year recorded temperatures up to 15°, and last winter ocean did not freeze over even on the north coast of Spitzbergen.”
There is lots of ice around Svalbard this year.
