Yes we did. He made a decision. And acted. He didn’t wait for the rest of the world leaders to decide what the U.S. should or shouldn’t do. It’s what we called a “leader” back then.
Our Presidents have recently been a pretty mediocre bunch.
I am continuosly involved in arguments with people who talk of international law and legality, etc. I point out there is no such thing and the only guarantee to peace and being left alone is the willingness to punch back or a credible threat to strike first – i.e. a big stick.
