80% Of Silicon Valley’s Engineers Are Asian

Why is that? Because Asians actually get an education – as opposed to the no child left behind junk science being fed to American school kids.

This probably has something to do with it as well…

50% of African American children live in single parent families headed by the mother
25% of Hispanic kids live with a single mother
16% of non-Hispanic white children reside with a single mom
10% of Asian kids live with a single mother

A lot! But both parents working to make ends meet due to keeping up with the latest trend also does not help!

I believe you are correct GG. It is a cultural issue, and some cultures highly value investment and hard work, and others not so much. This is reflected in divorce rates as well as GPA’s.

With “No Child left behind” you have to restrict the above average to make the slower ones look better and have more confidence! You end up with an entire generation of youths barely qualified to flip burgers after graduating from university with their feel good arts degrees.

But, but, but….engineering is toooooo haaaaaaarrrrrrddddd!

  4. It’s obvious that Asians are better adapted to global warming and blancos, and even more so hispanics and blacks, are very poorly adapted to conditions in a rapidly warming world. That’s why the hispanic races (I think hispanics are allowed to compete in more than one race these days) and the blacks all live at the poles while the lighter skinned races (having a much higher albedo) can only live in areas where this isn’t detrimental to their survival (eg Chad, Burma, Goa, Kenya).

        Grumpy:
Two workers are a choice, in most cases, and not a good choice. My daughter lives in a neighborhood with most families having both parents working. Two families in the neighborhood, including my daughter’s, have a similar standard of living, but the husband only works. My daughter could have another car and better TV and clothes, but she chose the kids. And sanity.

When she did work, almost all of her income went for clothes, car, and fuel. (this before she had kids)

        You are what you eat.

You should apply for a grant with that hypothesis.

What do “real Americans” do anymore?

It’s more like “No Child Gets Ahead.”

That’s what we call social justice. Equal poverty for all!

Not only is the science not being taught well, but the politicians want to think that theology and junk science should be given equal time. After all, it’s only fair!

Science is not fair. Understanding it’s sheer noncompliance to our feelings is a huge growing up experience and leads to more rational and realistic thinking. By studying science, it, in effect, tells us what and how it works—in this respect we really know nothing—it is our job to understand it and then see if we can make it help us improve our lives.

This reminds me of the everybody-gets-a-trophy nonsense. The truth is that there are losers in life and no amount of legislation will correct that. You cannot fix stupid.
