The rapidly melting Greenland ice sheet is accumulating ice so fast that they have to keep jacking the buildings up to keep them from getting buried.

So, ifn’ my limited understanding is correct, it is the pressure of this constant growth
at the middle of the Ice that causes the calving at the edges, no ?
Exactly. The ice spreads under its own weight. When it gets to the sea, mindless left-wing zombies get hysterical
Ok so then, if as according to the next post on the subject , the ice sheet, were “disintegrating ” or in conventional terms, melting or shrinking, it would be seen to recede from the coastline rather than dump its excess ice into the ocean.
And this is true of Antarctic ice as well, right ?
Big Lie exposed by 7th grade science . I can’t see how they get away with it.
If you tell a big lie often enough people will come to believe it is the truth!
Yes gravity moves the ice only if there is sufficient upslope to move. Snow needed. Also the glacier ice will become an ice shelf when the ocean is encountered. It is this shelf that is in danger of breakup by the odd storm. Large waves flex the brittle ice which breaks up forming iceburgs. A natural process and no warming needed.
Glaciers are rivers, not lakes.
Poor Greenies just can’t get it right…
“•New York City is not only planting a million trees, it also has a $1.5 billion, 20-year plan for green infrastructure to help manage storm-water runoff from increasingly powerful storms.”

A new study shows that as climate change enhances tree growth in tropical forests, the resulting increase in litterfall could stimulate soil micro-organisms leading to a release of stored soil carbon.
Their results show that extra litterfall triggers an effect called ‘priming’ where fresh carbon from plant litter provides much-needed energy to micro-organisms, which then stimulates the decomposition of carbon stored in the soil.

Ouch, that’s an inconvenient truth.
If you glance at the linked article bring your vomit bag though. Classic stupid and breathtakingly obvious. Here is someone commenting on how climate change affects their planning …
Yep, classic and breathtaking.
Are you sure those jackable stilts are not there to outpace sea level rises? Can we get an answer from the University of Colorado on this?
That’s NOT because of the ice. The building is on jacks so the doors will line up with the tops of the stairs. Boy, you guys are dumb!
Probably an AGGIE design!
