On July 24, 1936 almost all of Kansas was over 105 degrees. Two thirds of the state was over 110 degrees, and one-fourth of the state was over 115 degrees. McPherson and Minneapolis, Kansas were 117 degrees.
If Kansas had a day anywhere near this hot now, there would be a widespread call for immediate world communism to fix the weather.
Temperatures are forecast to be 25-35 degrees cooler this week than they were in 1936.

Indeed….. all and all, it’s been a rather pleasant summer this year. 117 F? We’d all prolly die!!
