Harp seals mate and rear their young on the sea ice off the east coast of Canada in the spring and move north as the weather warms. But increasing numbers of seals are ending up stranded along the U.S. East Coast, as far south as the Carolinas, far away from where they should be at this time of year.
They start out in Canada and move north to the Carolinas.
As ice levels in the North Atlantic have declined, the number of seals that have wound up on beaches, either dead or in poor health, has increased, new research shows.
Here is the same story from 1990.
Good grief.
But it means that South Carolinians can now enjoy that most wonderful Newfoundland treat . . . Seal Flipper Pie.
No one ever accused the presstitutes of having an ounce of brains. Or of knowing how to read a map and/or a compass….
Florida is really part of Canada and it is the lack of sea ice off the coast of Florida that is causing the problem! 😉 If conditions would only return to what they were before AGW caused sea ice to disappear along the Florida Keys we would not be having these problems!
Harp seals REGULARLY appear at Assateague Island, Virginia and generally appear there starting in late winter (February or March). That is not very far from the North Carolina coast at all.

They are regular visitors to the DemMarVa peninsula.

Missing brains stranding rowers on beach:
http://mainstreamlastfirst.com/
4 rowers washed up on beach
Their blog diarrhea is about 3 or 4 days in arrears.
It sounds like they’re getting navigation advice from Team Reggie.
Too bad it wasn’t at the peak of a spring tide.
They could get a month off.
Isn’t it astonishing that the rowers haven’t got a clue about the state of the tide? In shallow water it’s essential to know what’s happening with the tide.
Ocean sailing 101… oh I forgot, they’re not sailing.
Reblogged this on The Firewall.
While living in Australia, Canadians were lovingly referred to as “seal bashers”. Poor seals have no chance, Canadians on one side and sick redneck North Carolinians looking to bar-be-que anything that swims, walks or flys on the other
