The Mildew Drought Of 2013

The US Drought Monitor says that we are having a drought in Fort Collins, which is remarkable because it is raining every day, is the greenest anyone has ever seen it at the end of the July, and the constant dampness is starting to produce mildew.

I’m just back from a bicycle ride in the fog, where I had to dodge gravel washed out on the road from yesterday’s deluge.

Yesterday was the 17th anniversary of the Spring Creek flood, and we had a mini flood on Spring Creek with a bike trail bridge submerged for a couple of hours.

Temperature predictions for my hometown of Muncie Indiana for the next 5 days is under 80 degrees. I don’t remember temperatures that low at the end of July when I lived there.
