Having been vanquished by reality, US scientists backed by the White House have begun brazenly lying about the state of the climate.
Climate scientists in the United States say extreme weather events and warming temperatures are the new norm.
The American Meteorological Society has released its annual snapshot of the world’s climate, which concludes disastrous weather events like Hurricane Sandy in the US and droughts and floods in Australia, Africa and South America will become more frequent.
The report lists a raft of indicators that show a continuously warming planet where ice sheets and glaciers will keep shrinking, and sea and land temperatures will keep rising to record levels.

The world doesn’t have “a” climate. It has many climates. It appears AMS doesn’t know what “climate” means.
AMS has become an advocacy group looking for their share of the funding pot.

I believe all the above of course, but today I have been convinced by Huffington Post and The guardian that its all too late, and all our fault.
A polar bear has been found dead in the artic. This is due to climate change and also means that we have passed the tipping point – we are doomed, because’ scientists’ found it.
There was no sea ice in shot – conclusive proof that the artic has melted. I am not sure that even the god-like Obama can save us now.
Of course it could be that the bear was old and died of natural courses. It was apparently thin (a sure sign of climate change (see 50% of Americans). Perhaps it died some long time ago and the effects of cold have preserved it in a freeze dried form….

Yesterday or the day before, the Weather Channel said that, because Sandy was downgraded to a tropical storm status just before it struck the East Coast, new procedures for reporting hurricanes has been implemented (the implication being that people didn’t take Sandy seriously before it hit because it wasn’t particularly strong at all, according to its winds). So they know, as any reasonable person interested in the subject knows by now, that the damage done by Sandy had nothing to do with storm strengh and everything to do with the critical storm path, which produced a large storm surge against densely built-up and unprotected coastal areas. In other words, it was human error in not providing for the likelihood of such a storm surge, sooner or later, from the well-known “stormy Atlantic”. So much of the population is brain-dead, more or less, in listening to only what is presented to them by their supposedly expert and authoritative institutions (TV, radio, the government), that the entire system is broken, and all of those trusted institutions are lying, to keep their accustomed influence and standard of living. We should all know, from “The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire”, how this must end if it is not corrected.
Indeed. The Weather Channel abandoned the scientific Saffir-Simpson scale to use the marketing construct “Superstorm.”
Waiting for a story to come out that the closest web cam to the north pole melted into the ice and fell over. Dam young polar bears must of been playing with that weird object on the ice last night. There tracks showed up yesterday in the snow and the cam is knocked over today..

How come weather events are now called “climate?” Right down to a few hours in a year above freezing on the Greenland ice sheet. Or a tornado lasting a few minutes. A hurricane. Or a large former hurricane.
The “State of the Climate” report is nothing more than an almanac of weather events that inevitably fails to point out the mild weather that is dominant throughout the globe and throughout the year.
Weather events are absolutely not climate. Climate is general weather. An event, like a storm, is something outside the ordinary (climate). Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a storm.
When the corruption is total there will be those who profit from it and the rest of the honest people will be their slaves.
At least that is the plan.
The ABC (our Aussie one) ran this in their lunchtime tv news yesterday. The presenter Ros Childs is an old hand and always is happy to maintain the climate rage. Only something went slightly wrong this time – she did a live spot with the head of the Climate Commission about the report and asked him why Antarctic ice was at a record extent.
The CC guy was visibly flustered by this off-reservation behaviour. No climate warrior ever mentions the Antarctic. He waffled something irrelevant about ‘signs of melting’ and went on. It was very funny.
