Barack Obama has declared faith in climate models to be the official US religion. No debate is permitted and the Congress is necessarily bypassed to implement the official state sponsored religion.
Additionally, the Secretary of the Interior has made it clear that faith in climate models is a mandatory requirement for all government employees.
It is not exactly faith in climate models, in my opinion. Instead, it is a faith in collective action being better than individual freedom. The current catastrophism is very convenient for implementing such a socialist utopia, and climate models are merely icons of this process.
But if climate models are utterly debased and debunked (which is and will continue to be fierceley resisted), the catastrophists will have suddenly “moved on” to other concerns. The “oceanic acidification” is one such fallback position, especially since there is nothing like a CET, no “Central Pacific Alkalinity” record going back hundreds of years, to gainsay them.
Some of these folks are well-meaning, but others have larceny in their hearts and piracy on their minds, and the destruction and misery of much of humanity does not even register as an inconvenience for them.
