“Gell-Mann Amnesia effect”
“Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray’s case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect. I call these the “wet streets cause rain” stories. Paper’s full of them.
In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know.”

Socialism Couldn’t Save The Glaciers
By 1903, glaciers were rapidly disappearing around the world and New Zealand had gone full socialist. According to the IPCC and Michael Mann, the second half of the 19th century was the coldest fifty years of the last millennium.

Climate Change 2001: The Scientific Basis
Before the IPCC rewrote history in 2001, NOAA knew about the warming from 1981 to 1919.
“Analysis of warming since 1881 shows most of the increase in global temperature happened before 1919 — before the more recent sharp rise in the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, said Thomas Karl, of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C. While global climate warmed overall since 1881, it actually cooled from 1921 to 1979, Karl said.””

Record Slow Ice Melt
Arctic sea ice extent is about the same now as it was when the Berlin Wall was still standing in 1989. Seasonal melt over the past month has been the slowest on record.

UK Sucking Carbon
“A ground-breaking project to suck carbon out of the sea has started operating on England’s south coast.
The small pilot scheme, known as SeaCURE, is funded by the UK government as part of its search for technologies that fight climate change.
There’s broad consensus among climate scientists that the overwhelming priority is to cut greenhouse gas emissions, the chief cause of global warming.”

Four Years Past The Deadline
During 2011 Obama/Biden science advisor John Kerry said the Arctic would be ice free by 2013, and that we only had until the year 2021 to save the planet.
“Scientists tell us we have a 10-year window — if even that — before catastrophic climate change becomes inevitable and irreversible. The threat is real, and time is not on our side.
Facts, as John Adams said, are stubborn things. Here are a few you need to know: Atmospheric carbon-dioxide levels have risen 38% in the industrial era, from 280 to 385 parts per million (ppm). Scientists have warned that anything above 450 ppm — a warming of 2 degrees Celsius — will result in an unacceptable risk of catastrophic climate change.
The truth is that the threat we face is not an abstract concern for the future. It is already upon us and its effects are being felt worldwide, right now. Scientists project that the Arctic will be ice-free in the summer of 2013. Not in 2050, but four years from now.”

Cooling Minnesota
On April 21, 1980 it was 100F (38C) at Ada, Minnesota. Over the last 50 years, April temperatures there have plummeted at a rate of nineteen degrees per century. The last time Ada reached 90F during April was 1992.
April temperatures at Ada were stable from 1920 to 1971. Then they rose sharply into the mid 1980’s, and have since plummeted about ten degrees.
