Over at Harmless Sky there is an ongoing discussion about the merits of introducing penguins to the North Pole. Their eggs, mind you, are likely to be bigger, thereby guaranteeing even fatter bears!
I can’t wait to see this nice bit of geoengineering to be put in place, can you?
ps if the goose eggs and the penguins’ are not enough, there’s always going to be an argument for a “modest proposal”, saving the polar bears and reducing human overpopulation at the same time!!
I don’t think it will work. The Arctic will be ice free before 2013 (2015 at the latest) and the Penguins would die of heat exhaustion. A better solution would be to move all the Polar Bears to the South Pole.
Yes, they certainly want to remain logically consistent, in their fantasy…..
Although, having 2 species in peril from retreating ice would be sweet…if only the darn ice would behave! Hansen may be able to retroactively (or even simultaneously) change the temperatures but he has more trouble with reality (not his strong suit).
If I understand this story, the Goose which will sustain the bears doesn’t actually live and nest in the bear’s habitat……now.
The Geese must move into the Bear’s habitat first? Did someone call Mayflower? Isn’t this taking the fantasy to the next level? What “might” “could” “may” happen “if” “perhaps” “in the event of” “possible” change of habitat?
I hear the snow poodle makes a good snack too. We could just import a few of those.
How will snow geese survive? Snow is a thing of the past.
Liberal AGW promoters are the best source of the nutrients that a growing Polar Bear needs. Brother Gore can save the bears by sending his Repower America group to the Arctic.
I hear his troop of Vaudeville comedians are short of work as fewer people want to hear about his version of the end of the world. So traveling to the Arctic Circle to have lunch with the Polar Bears would give them something to do. It would also be a reduced carbon trip because it requires only half of the carbon required for a round trip.
Perhaps they could also go to Africa

M White:
That seems like a very good place to send Eco-Tourists!
Just think of their contribution to the “Food Chain”.
