http://www.hprcc.unl.edu/products/maps/acis/nrcc/MonthTDeptNRCC.png The southeastern US has been averaging between three and fifteen degrees below normal this month. This is even colder than the record cold of January, 2010. and February, 2010 But it is the hottest year ever.

Bitter Cold In Alaska
Fairbanks has been averaging about 16 degrees below normal this month, with an average high temperature of-13F. Only two days reached the normal high temperature. http://www.wunderground.com/ My understanding is that Alaska is not part of Europe.
