As usual total cobblers. Weather not climate.
Back to climate, last time there were 3 consecutive cold winters = 1985-7 (CET)
Also last time 3 consecutive years were below average in CET record
Assuming CET for December will come in around -0.5, average for year will be 8.85. Lowest since 1986.
Assuming the rest of winter is average, this will also be the third consecutive winter below average, last seen as above 1985-7.
The long run of above average winters 1997-2008 is matched by 1918-1928.
Again this proves very little, except that the UK climate is very variable.
There have been 7 other years with a CET for Dec below 0C. No discernable influence on the rest of those winters. Some go warm others stay cold as you would expect. What we don’t want is a repeat of 1878-9 with a January CET of -0.3, for the ultra rare consecutive below 0 months. Last seen in the infamous winter of 62-63.
That is just natural long term ocean atmosphere weather patterns. Understanding the nature of those patterns is the study of climate. Using a short period to define climate distorts what climate actually is. You could define climate by showing regional weather patterns over a few thousand years. There is no global climate unless you look at millions of years. Looking at shorter periods only destroys the signals and leads to delusional beliefs and groups like the IPCC who have no friggin idea what climate is!
What is being experienced this year may be a repeat of a period hundreds of years ago. This could be the start of a Dalton or Mauder Minimum or even another step down towards the next glacial maximum.
Quite right, Mike.
What will we hear next from the warmists. Now cold weather is caused by melting ice caps (in the summer). A few years ago global warming caused warm winters, now its cold winters. You can’t make this stuff up.
That is one heck of a dip in the Jet Stream!
For the last time, it’s frigging AUSTRALIA not AUSTRIA lol
Hansen doesn’t read the Daily Mail.
Arctic air being diverted to Australia is pretty impressive. Must be due to wind farms or something.
Do you guys realize, if it wasn’t for global warming….
…….how cold it would have really been?
LOL
For whatever reason, weather tends to be streaky. Warm years and cold years seem to come in clusters.
