  1. Dave N says:

It’s The Day After Tomorrow all over again..

Back to the non-movie world: So we could freeze, or we could “fry”. One day an alarmist (or maybe a group of them) is going to postulate that global temps could remain static for decades because of global warming.

Do they even realise how stupid they sound when contradicting each other? No wonder the average person has lost faith in anything they say.

  2. Mike Davis says:

They were just covering all bases so when a natural event happens it can be blamed on AGW. That Atlantic conveyor belt that is best observed in the Gulf Stream is not flowing at a constant rate and does shift course at times. When that happens it will change the weather in the Eastern US and Europe. Interesting thing is due to methods used it will not be observed until after it happens. With all the push for Global Warming necessary research which might have given advance notice is buried in “Properly” adjusting measured temperatures to fit the desired results.
Instead of worrying about global conditions they should have been studying regional weather patterns to better understand weather / climate. The global alarmism is drowning out regional issues just like the lack of road salt / grit in the UK.
Nasa should only be responsible for putting the observation equipment in orbit and leave researching the results to other organizations that should be independent of each other like RSS and UAH. Watching the climatologists I am reminded of inbreeding and why it is a problem. It tends to breed the worst characteristics into the family.

Sort of like saying there is currently no life guard watching over the intellectual pool that climatologists are pulled out of.

It’s kinda like the “divergence” in the stick. It just needs to be explained, then it’s okay.

  4. Nonoy Oplas says:

Heads I win, tails you lose.
whichever way the climate goes, it’s due to man-made warming.

  5. M White says:

Gulf Stream ‘is not slowing down’

“Between 2002 and 2009, the team says, there was no trend discernible – just a lot of variability on short timescales.”

  6. Their figure of the conveyor belt is quite humorous – the two warmest currents (Gulf Stream and Kuroshio) are missing and they have the cold belt on those sides!
