I have often wondered who it is that controls the irrigation canals. I would assume someone at the state or local level. And why they do not listen to the farmers. What would be the ramifications of not obeying the EPA? Fines? The state is already broke, just send an IOU. It would surely be cheaper than the harm done to the economy.

  2. U NO HOO says:

An isolated incident…somethung like this will never happen with Obamacare.

  3. Mike Davis says:

Someone needs to do a mass recall election of those representing California in Congress!

    • Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

Californians keep voting for them. They like them. If you lived here you’d understand. They just reelected Jerry Brown and passed on a brilliant business mind in Meg Whitman. Think about it.

      • PhilJourdan says:

I lived there for his first coming. Any wonder I moved? Apparently the smart people left leaving all the clueless idiots to re-elect him. He was a disaster 30 years ago. He has not changed.

This is just another example of evolution at work.
Evolution is not perfect, and this is a fish that made a very bad evolutionary move.
It has evolved to live in a very small unstable place.

Personally, I don’t think it’s genes should be passed on…..

    • Mike Davis says:

They are more interested in SUB species that only exist under certain conditions.
This is the Sacramento Delta Smelt we are talking about. That is probably a sub sub sub species. In the 70s there was a “Fish” that lived n geothermal waters in a warm spring location that was open to the public. They closed the region to public access to save the fish and a private resort suffered from a fire that destroyed whatever building that were there and that closed to save the fish.

      • James Mayeau says:

Interesting point. The delta smelt lives in semi salty water of estuaries, so the remediation the ecoterrorists promote, ie increasing the fresh water flow, probably degrades the livable habitat space available to their favorite fish.

  5. Baa Humbug says:

Tar n Feathers. It’s the only satisfying solution.

  6. MikeTheDenier says:

It’s not just California. Obamby is dtermined to send the US into economic collaspe. Just wait. $5 gas is soon to hit us — HARD!!!

The Energy Information Administration, the research arm of the Department of Energy, last month predicted that domestic offshore oil production will fall 13% this year from 2010 due to the moratorium and the slow return to drilling; a year ago, the agency predicted offshore production would rise 6% in 2011. The difference: a loss of about 220,000 barrels of oil a day.

  7. Squidly says:

I am just so glad that I don’t live in California. All members of my family who did, don’t anymore.

This is particular case is so unbelievable to me. It is truly the poster child of the bureaucratic idiots in Washington. Let lobbing of special interest take precedence over sane and rational intelligence. Be damned everything else.

    Truly remarkable and sad.

  8. peterhodges says:

our own government is our worst enemy.

  9. Airframe Engineer says:

This old bat is in her late 70’s if I recall.

The corruption of our legal system and government exists at every level. The only hope for controlling the devastation is from the top. I like the idea of constitutional changes that would eliminate the standing of enviro-advocacy groups before any court.

Marxists/Malthusians/Enviro-nuts have been working hard for decades to build a spiderweb of controls to impede growth and prosperity. First, Americans need to see the destruction, and right now, they’re not being told. Then we need an atomic weapon to rid ourselves of this evil. Like a declaration of national emergency for our energy infrastructure. With this, outlawing environmental group obstruction to a vast plan to rebuild.

The trick is to outlaw obstruction without outlawing sincere environmental control. But frankly, outside of nukes and a short list of contaminants, there is little we can do to damage the environment that can’t be undone in fairly short order.

In the view of wack jobs, ALL change is IRREPARABLE environmental destruction. And this is how they’ve sold their schtick.

  10. PhilJourdan says:

Well – if the issue is another Pearl harbor – can she play the role of the Arizona?

  11. grayman says:

About 10 megaton warhead in L.A.,D.C. N.Y. and i believe that will take care of the nutjobs , if you have loved ones ther tell them to move!

  12. R. de Haan says:

Feinestein will be one of the first to be put for the firing squad.
    And how she deserves it.

  13. Amino Acids in Meteorites says:

    Marx hated farmers too.
