Oh my. I guess the ecofreak would rather have the conference attendee not take a bath. They should also follow Sheryl Crow’s advice and only use 1 sheet of toilet paper.
Geeks ae weird enough as it is but unwashed and smelly isn’t they way to promote new technology.
Those Terrible Towels! I guess Pittsburg is the new center of AGW! 😉
Whereas towels used at home are somehow “greener?”
Toilet paper also leaves a giganitc carbon footprint!
More like brown coal footprint
common it’s vegas. they could just lower the carbon footprint by hang-drying the towels instead of using dryers….oh wait, it’s snowing in las vegas!
You can not call it green if you have people flying in, a virtual show would be green but then the hit to the economy , flying in ,hotels , convention centers, taxis , rental cars, food , etc. .Some times i wonder what the polititions are thinking when they say all the green jobs that will come but what about the even more unemployed that come with it !
If these Yahoos want to promote more environmental friendly conventions then they should be the first to show the world how that is done by NOT flying around the world to attend confreres talking about being green. When they start living a GREEN life style, then they have a right to say: Look at what I am doing to protect the future. Until then they should STFU!!!!
The Convention and Visitors Authority in Las Vegas provided me with a nice sum of savings as I worked conventions for 7.5 years at the main convention center as a coordinator, project manager and trouble shooter.
