They provide evidence they have no clue what the weather is doing yet they claim they are needed to make the future better. Their past performance shows the opposite! They have actually cost governments to spend more caused by their poor forecasts and the governments would have done better without the assistance of the MET.
They forecast December so badly that they came out and said they don’t make forecasts anymore. But they want to advise us on what will be happening in climate change. So they do, then they don’t, now they do again. They must be run by politicians.
Past performance does not guarantee future performance. In other words, it is theoretically possible that someday they might actually issue a correct forecast. But we shouldn’t hold our breath!
Andy,
warmcold, wetdry, snowrain, and droughtflood….
….are correct forecasts!
What ever happened to the good old days of coldcold and warmwarm? I remember when I was a kid we had them. My grandma made great pancakes then too!
🙂
The Met says they don’t make forecasts. How can they answer questions about future climate changes?
Our BOM switched to a new model in August last year, which they got (yes!) from the UK Met Office. And of course they promptly failed in their forecasts so badly that the Wivenhoe Dam operators blamed them for causing the Brisbane flood, and $billions worth of avoidable flood damage.
