Just how does garbage like this make it to press?

That is impossible because there are no Pika left. They were all killed of during previous warm periods if they are that sensitive. Either that or this report is PBS! Pure Bull S….
So what are they saying…
…77 1/2 degrees just gives them a bad headache
Mountains are eroding and getting shorter, what are they going to do then?
“Die off above 78F”? That’s Rommspeak for misquoting its own source, that says “can die when exposed to temperatures as mild as 78 degrees F“.
And I’d like to know how accurate that claim is. A quick search on Google appears to show the “78F” threshold just as scientific as any ThinkProgress blog post.
“If my calculations are correct, when this thermometer hits 78 degrees; you’re going to see some serious sh*t.”
I often wonder if concerns about threatened species, particularly local popoulations, become self fullfilling prophecies. The more intensively we study them the faster they disapear. Maybe pikas just don’t like researchers. Especially after they heard about them putting cousin Fred in a sauna until he died.
