Massive Wildfire Destroys Alberta Town

That fire kicked in real fast. Forest fires nearby suddenly changed direction with a wind change and they never even got out an evacuation alert! People just realized that it was looking bad and got out! very sad to see lots of people lose there homes, but as far as I know, no loss of life…
Up in north alberta, windy, dry and hot.
Down here in southern alberta, we are about to get hit with some pretty good rain.
Just south of Calgary over the next week they are calling for up to about 50 ml of rain (2 inches for my USA friends), and with the spring run off just starting, this will raise river levels quite quickly.
Further south in Colorado we are freezing with record rainfall.
It is sad. I feel for the people that lost their homes today.
The weather models are predicting unseasonably cold weather next week over much of Canada and the northern US.
