…if you lose the summer sea ice, there are phenomena that could lead you not so very long thereafter to lose the winter sea ice as well. And if you lose that sea ice year round, it’s going to mean drastic climatic change all over the hemisphere.

Reblogged this on Climate Ponderings.
They really think that the Arctic, with essentially no solar input for nine months of the year and only 3% at the summer peak, will not produce any ice during the winter. These guys have no clue what they are talking about. Totally stupid or willfully ignorant? I choose the latter.
Once a lake melts in Colorado at 40N, it never freezes over again – until the next winter. At 90N, they stupidity level gets much higher for Obama’s top science guy.
“…there are phenomena that could lead you not so very long thereafter to lose the winter sea ice as well.”
Sure, like a large meteor strike at the north pole, the crust opening up super volcanoes in the Arctic, a Red Giant, and many other doomsday scenarios. But what are we writing here? Science or Science-Fiction?
Little green men from Mars COULD invade earth and kill us all with their death rays. Does not mean that it is very likely.
Wait…the summer has no sun for half the year! It’s winter pratically all-year yound. How exactly can they predict ice loss in total darkness? And in the winter? What are they smoking?
