As far as I tell from National Weather Service records, Death Valley never got within six degrees of setting an all-time temperature record during the past week.

It’s hard to believe that after 80 or so years the record still hasn’t been broken.
Just think though: Now that Obama has released his Climate Action Plan, Death Valley will no longer get so hot.
What I want to know is what caused Death Valley’s global record high 100 years ago? If I were alive then would I be justified blaming co2? This is the problem with broken records – what caused the past record????? And can’t we use the same cause for the present ‘record’???
Since NOAA is planning on a 100 year event to “commemorate” that record, I bet they’re quite upset it still stands. Time for some old data manipulation perhaps??

That is another part of Death Valley and is not the official weather station. The one to look at is Furnace Creek.
However 125 would not be abnormal for any part of Death Valley this time of year
