You throw up a lot of noise Steve, but you make your point unconvincingly to a critical mind. The pine beetle infrestation of Colorado is unprecedented. It takes a lot of years for those very slow growing trees to get the size they were. That amount of wide spread insect damage is a sign of warmer winters over a longer period of time. Your little antedotes are a weak response.

This is noise to you because your brain is hopelessly tuned to the wrong frequency.
There is a good side to pine beetle outbreaks. Perhaps Mother Nature is simply doing her job with the current outbreak as she has done before with previous ones. Perhaps man has nothing to do with it.

There is nothing unusual or extraordinary going on with the climate. Hurricanes are down, tornadoes are down, fires are down. Droughts, floods are no worse than usual. No significant warming since 1940 (away from urban heat islands).
It is important to look at the past and if you take the time to look at the past, you will see that weather disasters are no worse or common than in the past. If stating the truth makes me an angry person, I plead guilty.

I guess that is how Drudge, Huffington and all the others do it as well. You just put in your partisan keywords and up it pops. I am disgusted with both political parties. My disbelief in catastrophic global warming is based on my own lifetime avocation of looking at weather records that started before global warming became a political football. Somehow global warming has evolved into a Democrat vs. Republican issue. I look at it more as a truth issue and alarmists are not the least bit shy about stretching the truth. More than a little. If they have the facts on their side, why do they feel this almost pathological need to embellish?
