    It is hardly surprising that Bangladesh has problems with flooding as they have (with Soviet assistance) –
    Built huge dams across their rivers.
    Altered some of the mountain profiles.
    Altered the water courses of all the main rivers.
    Introduce huge hydrological schemes to irrigate huge rice paddies, and other agricultural developments.
    Reclaimed vast amounts of residential land from the Bay of Bengal.
