Government Shutdown Produces Massive Decrease In Climate Fraud

Amen to that. Since the shutdown my rectal pain has decreased.
Great news
Only 6.6% of EPA employees are “essential”: http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/09/30/us-usa-fiscal-epa-idUSBRE98T12E20130930
The issue now is the debt limit increase. You all in favor of default? Maybe the short term effect of a government shutdown hasn’t reached out to the hinterlands where you are, but you will feel the effects of default on day one. You won’t have noticed reading your partisian noise, but the Democrats are not caving.
The Democrats may not be caving now but they are riding a dead horse. Soon the stench of corruption will be too much to withstand for many of them. Hopefully, enough to make a difference by 2014 or 2016. Preferably both.
Are you in favor of default? Apparently Obama is, because he refuses to give American citizens the same Obamacare relief as he gave business two weeks ago. That is all he has to do.
Democrats didn’t threaten to shut down the government or default to get President Bush to get out of Iraq or pass those crazy tax cuts that added to the deficit. You make such changes by winning elections, passing legislation or getting the supreme court to support you. Hostage taking must be stopped now. You don’t legislate with a gun to your head.
Obama chose to shut down the government. He had a house spending bill which he just needed to get signed.
Avery, almost all democrats voted for the war in Iraq
Unless the government is trimmed by at least 80%, default is inevitable. The regulatory state is progressively making it more difficult to create wealth. The government spending of money that it doesn’t have and doesn’t own is making it all but impossible to keep what little wealth that is created. Retained wealth by its creators and their freedom of thought and action in its use is the price of having a future. Without those thing, there is no future and economic collapse will happen. It is not if, it is when. That one cannot consume that which has not been produced will guarantee it.
The reason we are even close to the debt limit is the President has been completely unwilling to cut any spending. He came to office and immediately increased government spending by about 21% with the “temporary” stimulus which never went away. What that did is add about 4% to GDP, but since GDP only grew 0.1%, that means the rest of the economy still decreased. Which is why the recession never felt like it was over. Until 2011, the increase in government spending accounted for almost all of the increase in GDP. More than 100% in 2009 and 2010, then less in 2011.
It locked him into that level of spending, because decreasing it in his mind will result in lower GDP, and another recession.
The prior record deficit until Obama was elected was $459 billion. It has averaged $1.3 trillion each year since. That’s mainly because of the spending increase. For the 2012 fiscal year, federal spending was $555 billion higher than in 2008, and tax receipts only $74 billion lower than 2008.
You want a deal, compromise, Democrats will put spending on the table if Republicans put revenue on the table. Compromise and we could have the debt way down and the economy booming. Remember, cutting is not the only way to reduce the debt. By the way, the deficit is significantly down already down just with the improving economy.
Zero doubled the deficit….it had no where to go but down from there
Trillions of dollars from we wealth producers is still flowing into the coffers on the Treasury to pay all outstanding debt. Eight hundred thousand Imperial Federal employees need to go find a wealth producing job.
Wealth producers my ass. Being born to good parents is the best wealth producer. Give every kid a chance.
Does that include the kids of bad parents?
I suspect you are confusing wealth producers and tax parasites….
By definition, almost all government employees are parasites upon society. How many government employees add value? By adding value, I mean that the work or services the government employees provide produce more value than the tax monies they are paid. That is, their output is more valuable than their paycheck.
By that definition, very few government employees add value. Or provide services people would be willing to purchase on the open market. If your tax bill was itemized by department, would you willingly pay the taxes funding the department of energy (their mandate upon creation was energy self-sufficiency in 20 years….), or the department of education? Or the CIA? Or NSA?
I would willingly pay for the defense portion of the department of defense. i.e. troops based in the US and territories. Paying for troops and bases in Germany nearly 70 years after WWII ended?? Not so much.
If youreally want to give the kids a chance, stop taking 30-50% of every dime they earn away from them. Obomanationcare is only gonna make things worse for the young and the poor. Obomanationcare is not universal healthcare as was touted by the liar-in-chief. It’s just a raft of new taxes and regulations forcing everyone to buy insurance or pay to do without.
Open your eyes. The government has plenty of money. New revenue is not the answer. Reducing the government spending is. Every nickle the government takes from the productive and spends on whatever is a drain on the economy.
Want peace and prosperity??? You cannot tax your way there.
I was for the Iraq war myself in the beginning. Rumsfield and Cheney made it sound like we would be in and out and a month. Sounded like fun. Those guys could convince me to by rotten dog food in those days.
that explains a lot
Talking about the government shutdown, ckeck this out. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/03/us/concerns-for-gop-candidate-in-virginia-where-pain-from-shutdown-is-acute.html?smid=pl-share
that’s hysterical!!!!!
The NYT had just told us the Teaparty was on the way out and irrelevant…
….now they are saying the Teaparty is strong enough to shut the government down!!!
ROTFLMAO
You did not read the article. The point was that the republican candidate for governor and 4 Republican congressmen from VA say the shutdown was a mistake.
House speaker, J. Dennis Hastert, “If I were Ken Cuccinelli I’d be calling my friends in the Tea Party and saying knock this off.”
Grover Norquist today “The only confusion that comes out is that Cruz stood on the side and confused people about the fact that every Republican agrees. He said if you don’t agree with my tactic and with the specific structure of my idea, you’re bad. He said if the House would simply pass the bill with defunding he would force the Senate to act. He would lead this grass-roots movement that would get Democrats to change their mind. So the House passed it, it went to the Senate, and Ted Cruz said, oh, we don’t have the votes over here. And I can’t find the e-mails or ads targeting Democrats to support it. Cruz said he would deliver the votes and he didn’t deliver any Democratic votes. He pushed House Republicans into traffic and wandered away.
Logic would say that if business gets a 1 year pass, then the public should have the same. It’s obvious it’s not ready for release, so why not just delay it? IF it so great, then why not just offer it to the public without all the forcing? The bill pages stand at 7′ 3″ inches tall and still growing. How could anybody make sense of that? The Republicans presented a 200 page bill. The problem, with all bills, they are so massive and confusing, almost anything can be interpreted from them with the right lawyer.
Remarkable how the conservative Tea party suddenly transforms into the radical Tea Party.
Every American can now see what Obamacara is all about.
This horse is dead.
