Even if it all were true, there is zero chance of ever changing the climate. It’s fanatical insanity. The only way to combat climate change is get into shelter when it’s bad and enjoy it when it’s good, oh, and buy some warm clothes. Clothing is the best way to address climate change in the winter along with a good heater. Only an egotistical fool would think bad weather can be controlled or oceans can be stopped from rising. I cringe every time I read “fight against climate change.” It’s a fight against capitalism and prosperity by people who are envious and lazy and think profiting is evil.
I vote the word “robust” be outlawed. It seems to be the favorite word of climate fanatics. It’s a “robust line of evidence.” It should only be applied to beer.
I just posted this just now, which probably will not be published there:
“Global warming began in the 1800’s, sea level rise has been linear for 150 years and hasn’t been a problem at all. Hurricane Sandy struck during high tide, which is 5 feet in Atlantic City, and the storm surge was 5 feet. Sea level rise since the 1930s in Atlantic City due to global warming has been 0.9 feet. Was the damage caused by the 5 feet plus 5 feet, or was it the 0.9 feet that did all the damage? Human production of CO2 didn’t begin in earnest until the mid 1900s yet sea level rise has been linear since 100 years before then. Scientists who say sea level rise is accelerating, and demonstrate it by grafting satellite altimeter data onto tide gauge data, are liars. Global warming is natural and no problem. Earth warms and cools on its own. Glaciers have been melting for 150 years, long before we jacked up the CO2. You can’t control the earth so we could never fix the problem even if there were one. To answer your question, global warming is one of the most trivial problems I can think of. Plants need CO2 anyway so be happy for them. And eat them.”

It’s a cult. Cults keep out all opposing information and thought and punishes those that go astray. How many have been fired because they didn’t “believe”? Some of the followers are so deluded it’s scary and their devotion to doom is illogical but nothing will sway them, just like the indoctrination of a cult. In a cult, everybody else is deluded and wrong. They are the ones with the “truth” and these AGWers fit a cult to every facet. Cults always have “doom” as the end and they are doing things to avoid doom. Reading comments by some of these people show they are spouting things they have heard and they are relying strictly on the information given to them by their “leaders”, in this case they masquerade as scientists.
This is why it will never be posted and it’s also why the comments are so staid and written like op-eds and fill with nothing but misleading information and outright lies.
National Journal is aimed at Washington insiders. It is mostly read by members of Congress, Capitol Hill staffers, the White House, Executive Branch agencies, the media, think tanks, corporations, associations, and lobbyists.
Nice response there Steve, pity I agree your comment has a snowball’s chance in Al Gore’s imagination.
Still, its certain a fair number of GOP congresscritters read your blog, so keep at it.
You know immediately she’s a moron. She has a photo of steam coming from stacks at a factory and the caption call it water vapor, yet she thinks she’s a scientist.
Under the theory that they aren’t approving my comment because it’s sunday, I actually took the time to write another comment, this time in response to Bill Snape who seems to be a particularly stupid globetard:
“Carbon AND methane? Methane is carbon. 100% increase in ocean acidity? What does that even mean? Nobody measures acidity in percentages like that. I suppose you mean a change from 8.2 to 8.1 is 100% increase? That’s alarmist math done to encite lay-readers. The report was prepared by 800 leading experts? No, it was prepared by the experts who were hired by the UN specifically to write the report to their specifications. Like hiring Beethoven to write a jingle. They sold out and lied for money. 10 degree increase in temperatures? Your post is pure rubbish, you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.”
Let her discuss her clean energy proposals with the Aust. Greens who want all Uranium and Coal mining shut down NOW.
“…solutions like nuclear energy…” Sure, we can follow Japan down the “yellow cake road” to more Fukushima like disasters!
Dingbat. Hasty generalization fallacy.
One event does not characterize the entire industry.
Did the climate make people live in dangerous weather-prone locations? Such as sandy low level shorelines?
Did the climate force the Army Corps of Engineers to carve up the Intracoastal Waterways, the Everglades, the Mississippi River?? Did it build homes in the dry dense woods out west, or on muddy cliffsides in California?
The people voted for the politicians, and get represented very well.
I reminded them that the “mother ship” would surely be back around with an incoming comet, and there would still be a chance for the faithful to jump onboard to escape our “boiling” planet.
Understanding this is easy. A politician sees advantage in every adversity. Truth doesn’t matter it is all about whatthey can make of it. More jobs for unions that vote them into office, more taxes to spend lavishly on their friends, more time in front of the cameras sayng the right things. It isn’t about global warming and it certainly isn’t about the truth, it is about power and money, pure and simple.
