  1. Avery Harden says:

Yea, and the population has gone up about two billions since he got shot.

    • And life-expectancy is twice as long as it was 100 years ago. Apparently we didn’t starve to death as Ehrlich warned.

      • Hugh K says:

Avery? Avery? Where did Avery go….

      • Raindog says:

average live expectancy has increased because life expectancy averages include infant mortality. Of course the effect is the same, but in general, once you reach something like age 12, your life expectancy has only increased by ~4 years vs 1900, I would also expect to see that start trending the other way due to epidemic levels of heart disease, diabetes and obesity.

      • Avery Harden says:

So you do believe in feedback loops. Sounds like the same logic for the increasing greenhouse effect.

    • GregM says:

John Lennon was a pacifist and a humanitarian and would probably today be even more against the misanthropic ideas about overpopulation as a big problem. He knew that the next question was quite terrible:
Which one of has shall be the first to be terminated? You? Me? Both of us maybe?
If someone starts talking about overpopulation as a major problem, ask that question.
Never have got an answer, just silence.
If people would just stop parroting things they read or hear, many stupid ideas wouldn´t survive as long as they do.

      • GregM says:

        Typo,
Which one of us shall be the first to…

      • Avery Harden says:

No one has to be terminated, just stop trying to regulate the relationship between a woman and her doctor. Help poor women around the world better space their births so they are not overwhelmed with more kids than they wanted or can manage. Educate and empower the women and the population normalizes.

        • gator69 says:

Why regulate anyone’s relationship with their doctor? Why involve the IRS?

          Answer: Control.

Progressives are always trying to control the lives of others, and then claim that they are liberators.

        • Avery Harden says:

gator, the idea of having dead beat moochers that are getting free health care at the emergency room pay began as a conservative proposal. Democrats wanted a single payer system but compromised and said we could do it the conservative way. Conservatives reniged at the sound of hated liberals saying ok and pretended they never had the idea.

        • gator69 says:

          I’m a Libertarian retard.

        • AndrewS says:

I’m for retardation too! 😉 Retard the growth of BIG Gov’t., and reverse it!

        • gator69 says:

Avery thinks paying for services equates to control, and that there are only two points of view. Brain damage.

        • GregM says:

With increased prosperity, better health care and elderly care, the number of children per family has shown to decrease substantially. See research done by Hans Roslund. In some countries (eg Italy) there are in fact problem with too few children per woman (less than 2).
To increase prosperity it is essential with access to cheap and reliable energy. If the developing countries are denied that access, with carbon cap and an alleged climate crisis as justification, they will remain underdeveloped.

        • Bill says:

The original progressives were big on eugenics. Hitler and Mussolini were heroes of the progressives.

        • GregM says:

          Hans Rosling, not Roslund

        • GregM says:

Hitler and Mussolini progressives??? Repressive fascists!

        • Colorado Wellington says:

          You got it.
Repressive fascists. Heroes of the progressives.
But Mussolini way more popular. Better timing and style.

        • GregM says:

Definition of progressive seem to differ substantially between United States and Europe.
Maybe a language issue. Would say Lennon was regarded progressive (Europen way) back then

6 good clips here (about 2 minutes each).

    • Raindog says:

Those are great short clips. In the first one, they kind of glossed over the eugenics movement 1890-1940’s, which is mostly where Paul draws on his ideas for overpopulation and that we need to have a population of only 500million.

    • Avery Harden says:

So if a fact diagrees with your “fact”, then fact is a lie or a fraud. Nice, that way you never have to address any issue that doesn’t fit your preconceived view.

  3. Larry Fields says:

I think that the world would be a better place if each and every population alarmist put his Kool-Aid where his mouth is.

  4. Pathway says:

Just as a point of interest here is the score card:
National Socializist Workers Party 20,000,000 killed
    Soviet Socialist 35,000,000 killed
Babies killed by American women 50,000,000
    Mao socialist 70,000,000 killed.

So American women rank just between the Soviets and the Maoist for genocide.
