I left the crock pot on overnight cooking chili, and this morning it is full of little hot ice cubes shaped like pinto beans.
Climate experts tell us that the record Antarctic ice is due to global warming, as is the ice-free Arctic winter. If Antarctic ice starts to shrink in the future, can we assume that it is due to global cooling?
Did any ice slide off the kitchen cabinet into the chili?
Two things with this pathetic, not even an argument, that the deniers of reality are putting up about the record increase are this.
Now I’m no scientist but if the melting freshwater from the Antarctic ice cap is causing more sea ice , then why are we not seeing the same thing with Greenland, I mean surely there would be some major plus sea ice anomalies if that nonsense theory were true?
secondly: Okay we accept that the sea ice which must affect the albedo slightly as there is more to melt in summer, is really growing as a result of the melting freshwater then how far is this expected to go f&8king Elephant Island?

It rains a lot when it’s -90 too. Rain water hits the 27 degree sea water and freezes instantly.
Let’s conduct an experiment in our kitchens. Get some fresh water and cool it to 33. Get some salt water and cool it to 27. Carefully drip the former into the latter. Did it freeze? No? Rats.

Considering it melts back to its original starting point every summer, sea ice is a bit of a moot point for claiming cooling or warming. And, recent temperature records from the south pole for June, July and August show the warmest temperatures for that period since record keeping began there in 1956.
Homer, please stop embarrassing yourself. June-August is winter at the south pole.
The statement was that from June to August was the warmest recorded temperature FOR THAT PERIOD. Winter or summer is beside the point. Similarily, average increased temperatures show up globally more in winter than summer.

There are 200 scientist working in Antarctica. I would listen to them before taking your word for it.
The average high temperature for the year in Antarctica is about -49 degrees F, while the average low temperature for the continent is about -56 degrees F.
Why would anybody be concerned about warming? So what if it warmed a couple degrees?
If it were just Antarctica, maybe it would not be such a problem. The more serious warming is in the Arctic.

The main source for the fresh water is not necessarily the land but the brine production that occurs with the surface ocean water around Antarctica. I can’t properly explain it but salt is removed from the surface water and falls as heavy brine to the deep ocean channels there. Fresher, lighter water is left on the surface. Fresh water freezes quicker than salt water. This becomes the sea ice.
This has nothing to do with warming vs cooling. I recommend folks goggle brine/ Antarctica. it is a fascinating read.

The oceans did absorbe heat since early 1900’s but that was due to to the sun( like a stove on high). Since 2000 the sun has turned down the heat(solar flux, TSI) to medium high. It takes some time to cool.

Warmists like to claim warming in every part of the world is unprecedented.
This paper says just the opposite. Warming has been more dramatic in the 1700s and 1800s than today.
“We present a new stable isotope record from Ellsworth Land which provides a valuable 308-year record (1702-2009) of climate variability from coastal West Antarctica. Climate variability at this site is strongly forced by sea surface temperatures (SSTs) and atmospheric pressure in the tropical Pacific and related to local sea ice conditions. The record shows that this region has warmed since the late 1950s, at a similar magnitude to that observed in the Antarctic Peninsula and central West Antarctica, however, this warming trend is not unique. More dramatic isotopic warming (and cooling) trends occurred in the mid-19th and 18th centuries, suggesting that at present the effect of anthropogenic climate drivers at this location has not exceeded the natural range of climate variability in the context of the past ~300?years.“
