“If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period,” Obama said in 2009, during an American Medical Association conference. “If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”
But White House Press Secretary Jay Carney claimed Tuesday that Obama did not mislead the American people.
“The president was clear about a basic fact,” Carney said, explaining that those who liked their plan could continue to keep that plan so long as the policy didn’t change.

Obamacare is an enabling act, giving dictatorial power to the Executive Branch over American health care. In many instances, it says, “as determined by the Secretary.”
The Secretary was in front of Congress today. She is a blithering idiot. And she has ABSOLUTE
control of health care in the U.S.

And in the media–Bill O’Reilly is even now doubling down on his refusal to say Obama lied about this. O’Reilly convolutedly thinks Obama didn’t know the reality would be different than what he promised (and that, because he didn’t WANT to know). But the error in O’Reilly’s logic is obvious, because Obama did not say “I believe you will be able to keep your plan”, he did not say “I don’t know, and can’t guarantee, but…”–he said (and the following is not an exact quote) “you will certainly be able to keep your plan, that is my promise to you”. (Steven has given one such exact quote above.) So Mr. O’Reilly, either Obama knew people would be thrown off their current plans (as many authoritative voices claimed back in 2009), and lied about it, or he lied (equally egregiously) in pretending to be absolutely sure people could keep their plans. What does it matter which lie he was guilty of, Mr. O’Reilly? Why can’t you call a blatant lie, from this President, a lie? Where is sane, plain logic to be found in any of the media? I will not obey a traitor, who has lied continually and compulsively to the American people–and everyone in an authoritative position who has aided and abetted the passage and/or the implementation of Obamacare, or even now accepts it as “the law”, is a traitor…in a sane world.
