I was listening to C-Span radio this morning, and there was a Democratic Congressman from New York complaining that the Iraq intelligence they were shown by the White House in 2002 was “all a big lie”
These are the same people who say that climate skeptics are conspiracy theorists – for not believing the fraudulent data orchestrated by the White House.
There is one big difference though – he voted for the Iraq invasion.
Except he’s lying by claiming the intelligence was false.
Most of what the Bush administration–and Clinton Administration claimed was true, just not as big a deal as the media had hyped it.
Saddam had WMDs, mostly chemical artillery rounds, that he had declared after the first Gulf War that he could neither prove he’d destroyed, nor would he turn them over to inspectors. We later found 100s of these shells, often with residue gas in them.
Someone *had* approached the Nigerian Government to feel them out about some off the books uranium transfers–this was what Joe wassisname reported to his CIA handlers. They didn’t *try* to buy any, they were just seeing if anyone was interested. Oh, and there *was* yellow cake uranium residue found at the reactor site the Israels bombed IN THE EARLY 80s.
Saddam also had Nuclear, Biological and Chemical programs in suspended animation, Equipment was buried, and scientists were kept in close contact, but no active programs.
Lots of equipment and material went missing. Some was suspected to have been shipped to syria.
Joe Wilson, husband of Valerie Plame …
Saddam himself created misinformation about WMD in order to scare Iran and to keep his generals loyal. http://www.reuters.com/article/2008/01/24/idUSN24277030
Out today:
http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/dgreenfield/al-qaeda-in-iraq-seizes-saddams-wmd-facility/
OOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPSIE!!! Obama been lyin’ along with the rest of the leftards!!
Chinese, Russian, British, French and Israeli intellegence all believed there were WMD’s present in Iraq. US forces did find 500 tonns of yellow cake and centrefuges. The Use of Force legislation passed by House and Senate listed over 20 reasons to remove Saddam from power. President Clinton signed an Executive Order for resgime change in Iraq. It’s just that our anti-American press used the WMD meme to destroy American resolve and now Iraq is in the hands of the Islamo-nazis.
Saddam feared Iran more than the US, so he wanted to keep the illusion he still had WMDs. And it did fool the rest of the world.
But let’s forget the source of all the technology and materials good olde buddy SH had. The U S of A federal government. And never mind the fact that SH had power because of US intelligence orgs. And we can go even further back to when Iraq was artificially created in the first place.
One intervention begets another. With each intervention things become messier and more unstable.
And that’s why we shouldn’t be conspiracy theorists, because conspiracy theorists start digging and turn up things we aren’t supposed to know or should have forgotten. We’re just supposed to consider today’s story for today and not look at it too closely. Just like with climate change. We’re not supposed to remember Hansen’s papers from decades ago or anything else. Just react emotionally to what they say today. For instance, today these same old chemical weapons are now in the hands of ISIS:

Time to be afraid again. *yawn*

A bit of an oversimplification I think; to the best of my knowledge Iraq was flying Russian MiGs, not General Dynamics F-16s …
Oil money allows one to buy from anybody.
.
I believe the WH is a conspiracy, a conspiracy of stupidity.
Unlike the UN which is, in the main, a conspiracy of the malevolent.
The definition of “conspiracy theorist” today is:
Not believing known, confirmed liars.
Great definition!

Never forget the conspiracy theory the AGWers subscribe to, that skeptics are paid big bucks to knowingly lie to the public. Challenge any AGWer to back up the accusation with actual evidence, and the backflips they do to concoct convincing stuff and/or change the subject is breathtaking, in the same league as any other wacko conspiracy believers out there.
Hear hear!

Claims that Skeptics are funded by Big Oil always cracks me up since it was BP, Shell and the Rockefeller foundation (Standard Oil money) that provided the funds for creating CRU @ East Anglia., home of the Climategate e-mails.
Not to mention that when Bob Watson was Chair of the IPC, he was working for the World Bank.
But of course, the AGWers’ backflip on CRU’s deal is how THAT particular money (along with these classic Phil Jones & friends pics http://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2013/07/23/prof-phil-jones-and-king-abdulaziz-university-saudi-arabia/ ) was good money for a good cause, vs bad money paid to skeptics for bad intentions.
The idiots that throw the term “conspiracy theorist” around are usually either brainwashed and/or just mentally weak.
Or are like cats, busy trying to scrap dirt over the pile of smelly stuff.
So there were no WMDs in Iraq, and no evidence that SH was planning to build a nuclear weapon – or so we’ve been told.
How about the 550 tons of yellowcake uranium secretly shipped from Iraq to Canada?
The United States secretly shipped out of Iraq more than 500 tons of low-grade uranium dating back to the Saddam Hussein era, the Pentagon said Monday.
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/US/07/07/iraq.uranium/
Or Google “iraq canada uranium”.
As for the rest of the technology, this is what happened to it after it was shipped to Syria:
http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2012/09/17/120917fa_fact_makovsky
And how about this news report – from yesterday’s Telegraph?
The jihadist group bringing terror to Iraq overran a Saddam Hussein chemical weapons complex on Thursday, gaining access to disused stores of hundreds of tonnes of potentially deadly poisons including mustard gas and sarin.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iraq/10913275/Isis-storms-Saddam-era-chemical-weapons-complex-in-Iraq.html
Interestingly, few are aware of the source of the chemical precursors for SH’s chemical weapons was not Rumsfeld and the USA , it was Holland and that the individual who drew the short straw and carried the can, Frans van Anraat, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment at the Hague for crimes against humanity,

And how many are aware of this?
The Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 is a United States Congressional statement of policy calling for regime change in Iraq. It was signed into law by President Bill Clinton, and states that it is the policy of the United States to support democratic movements within Iraq. The Act was cited in October 2002 to argue for the authorization of military force against the Iraqi government.

It’s amazing how much stuff that every knows is just flat out wrong, isn’t it?
“Iraq, rich in oil on the one hand and internally torn on the other, is guaranteed as a candidate for Israel’s targets.
Its dissolution is even more important for us than that of Syria. Iraq is stronger than Syria. In the short run it is Iraqi power which constitutes the greatest threat to Israel. An Iraqi-Iranian war will tear Iraq apart and cause its downfall at home even before it is able to organize a struggle on a wide front against us. Every kind of inter-Arab confrontation will assist us in the short run and will shorten the way to the more important aim of breaking up Iraq into denominations as in Syria and in Lebanon. In Iraq, a division into provinces along ethnic/religious lines as in Syria during Ottoman times is possible. So, three (or more) states will exist around the three major cities: Basra, Baghdad and Mosul,
and Shi’ite areas in the south
will separate from
the Sunni
and Kurdish north. ”

Kurds in the north,
Sunnis in the center

Okay, smart guy, how long are they prepared to wait? If the Israel is ‘so good’ and organized in this, what is the timeline? Or is this like an IPCC ‘projection’ 50 to 100 years into the future (and thereby virtually worthless)?
